I recently joined SETI after taking a break from UD and DC in general for a while...

Hope it helps!

When running 2 DC clients together generally it is expected that SETI will hog all the resources thus making the other DC project redundant.

I know I'm kinda clueless but could someone pm me and explain what this is because I know it will be too long to post...

Basically a program runs on your computer while your online offline?? while its just on? and then you send the info...any systems requirements?

I'd signed up along time ago if I'd known my 8-14hours a day online would be helpful

Actually I think there's a small number of teams that are missing from the teams page.. FAD isn't on there either.

The info is on here http://www.timodc.com/ but its still in process so not much info yet

RicheemxX, you have the right idea

While you're sitting there surfing the net.. or even while you're out at classes/job its just sitting there crunching along happily regardless of what you're doing. SETI and many other clients require you to be online all the time (with exceptions like UD using UD Mon) .. ECC2 I believe... that works a bit different so it doesn't actually download anything from the net, but does need to send out occasionally. All it does is use the Idle CPU time that you wouldn't use anyways

Actually, SETI does not require that you are online all of the time. It downloads the file, processes it, then sends the file out and downloads a new one. It can be set up to automatically access the web or ask permission so that you do not have to be online for it to work.
