Thud,
If I go to the Statsaholic client page and download an "optimized" client, do I still need the original client and then use the "optimized" client to update it like we had to when things first started? Please advise and TIA.

I'm not Thud,
but yes, I think you still have to install ECCp first, then either unzip the StatsAholic file directly into the ECCp directory with overwrite enabled, or unzip into another directory and move the files into the ECCp directory.

Yes, you still need the main client then the "optimized" client.

I hope it's a good one.
By the way, didn't you use that excuse last????

As has been said, yes you have to get the regular client first. I think this is because the enhanced client doesn't include a few files that you need, and come with the regular client.
Also, if you're following my instructions, you'll notice there is a link missing. I think it's the one that takes you to the "join this team" page on ND's site. I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet--sorry.
But, seeing as you're already a member, you can skip that step anyway!
Best of luck.

Whaddya talkin' about? You passed me long ago!
I fried a system and I'm down to my lowly laptop. Merely a temporary condition, of course.
Cheers!

Ok, I give. Are some of my cows dumping in the ND pasture and by-passing the Statsaholic site? Please advise and TIA.

Thud, I hope you don't mind me linking to your tutorial. It is among the best I have seen. I am trying to get several people to get started but they keep calling me up for help. They are not totally computer challenged but sometimes they act the part.

Thud,
One of my cows is a 400 Celery running on a Epox mobo and it's a dog when it comes to doing ECCp cracking. I just re-installed the client with a new one and did the optimization and it still will only do 1-3 DP's a day! That's pitiful! I have a 450 K6-3+ doing about 50 a day. What's with this thing? One thing I notice that none of the other Window clients do is it flashes all the time in time to the number changes, or so it seems. If you have any ideas please advise.

Updated Setup Instruction URL
Hey all! Tripod has been dead for acouple of days, so I (with the help of my brother, Mr. Voodoo) moved the instructions to: http://www.geocities.com/dctimo/
I updated the original post as well. I noticed that a few of you were giving out the old address, so I want to make sure you all get the new one!!
TOAD...sorry this thread seemed to have slipped through the cracks. Your Cele 400 should definitely be doing a lot more than that! Do you have something else running in the background that might be hogging the CPU?
The only other recommendation I might make is to try an older client...the ones from August are supposed to be the fastest. Let us know how it goes, because again, 1-2 per day is way too little! My Cele 333 laptop does 35-37 per day!
Best of luck!Last edited by Thud; December 14th, 2001 at 04:49 AM.

Updated the page again. It now includes a link to the manual upload page on ND's site.
Also added is a link to a page with ECCp benchmarks from mine and my brother's computers. We thought it'd be kinda nice to have a bit of an idea of what you can expect from your system(s).
Credit for both updates goes to my brother, "Voodoo" (thanx dude).
