FAD points are coming

dede has changed to team 2037 where my points went so maybe well see her on the next update.

i just found out she has two names so all the points arn't going to make it. im am about to give up. when i see the stats update when i get off work if my last dump isnt there im going to get out of this project. its to frustrating running these machines and wu's going everywhere. im not even going to try to get her points fixed.

geo, i cant start to understand your frustration.
I've never had these dramas with a DC.
Don't give it away just yet.
You have plenty of folk working to sort out your DC problems.
Including the bloke who wrote the code!

What is more important to you Geo - your PC's crunching the molecules, or you getting an ego boost with them being listed by your name - I know what is more important to me - trying to find cures to diseases....

My friend GEO is just concerned that I am going to spank him again. We have been close in jobs since the Anandtech days.

So while glory and cures are all good, it is the 'thwack!' on his bottom that he fears most!

why not just sign on using a different name? it's would be a shame if you dropped FAD because of this.

there are 80 wus gone. no matter what i do on any computer other than my first machine i have no idea where the points go
the may go to dede or frannie11 or anywhere. if you cant see results do you really have results?

tmx468 if you crunch for a week and upload and dont see where the wu's went wouldnt you be concerned? i uploaded 27 yesterday and my total went up 6. where are the other 21. nowhere that i can find. not even in dede score. so do i just crunch and not no if im doing anything?

if you uninstall & reinstall fad again using a new alias *and* a different email addy (mine's points to my hotmail accout)...it should isolate you from your previous troubles since for all intents & purposes (from FAD's POV) you are a different user.

is really neccesary to uninstall or would just changing the alias and email work?

I'ld recommend re-installing to get a new User number as it will associate your "node" number with your old accounts (however this will drag the points over to a new account if that's what you want to try)

If you change the Email and UN, then send in a job, it will move the points, then you can re-install fad and it will lock the previous points from that node (computer or Queue server) to that Email address. and there is no way to change it after that. (except for Emailing Keith.)

so my recommendation, change just the UN/Email, send in 1 job, nuke the FaD directory and re-install 1.21J, then set it up as a new PC (with the new Email address/UN) and you get to keep your points from any node you do this for. (Permanently)
