Um, wasn't that Brutus?
Calling people Brute is not polite.
Cheers

those of us that left for XPC did not abandon TIMO. i want to make that very clear! this is a great board and anybody who says or thinks that I or anybody else on xpc, abandoned you guys...well, they're flat-out wrong. i prefer to think that we are sister teams.
after all, a lot of us still visit techimo and Mntsnow (XPC owner) and NDC (XPC mod) are very active here as well. it's just that we genuinely felt that XPC would do a better job supporting FAD. it's not about which board is better, they're both great places.
but if you ask me, the fad forums at xpc is what this place USED to be like before all the restrictions got put in place.
jmebonner...you and anyone else here is more than welcome to check us out. no sales pitches, no hard sell...visit us and see for yourself. | I couldn't have said it better PJ!
While personally, I would prefer to see both teams racing each other . . . I know that each has to make their own decision as to what they want to do, based on what they want. I made my decision when I moved, and have continued to enjoy visiting here on occasion to help with questions or harrass as necessary.
Both sites are great, and I visit both sites daily. I just haven't had much to say/post here lately.

I became "captain" (i.e.- the one controlling the team site) to keep the team from getting moved. I don't have the energy nor the free time to run the team nor did I ever intend to, as bitspit was the one doing that. If everyone wants to nominate someone that will head up the team that would be great.

After the initial bruhaha (sp?) I said I'd stay and see how it went, leaving myself the option of going. The climate has grown cold here, little action, even less encouragment and comraderie. No single person is at fault, maybe I should have tried harder to light a flame, but facts are facts.
H_E. I can empathize with your struggles, I was forced to sell off three of my cows cause I needed the $$. I encourage you to keep crunching regardless, you're definately a force to be reckoned with
I'll make up my mind tonight and do what I need to manana. |

Well, this night(and morning) has been very hard for me. I have been wrestling the fact of which team to be on for the last few days.
And, I know just what jmebonner is feeling... A feeling of wanting to go to a place more welcoming, and just simply more alive, but also the feeling of wondering if there will be regret in that decision to move. It's very tough on me, and my emotions have been swaying back and forth these last several hours.
But, I have made a decision to switch over to XPC. I have been lurking about the FaD forums over there, and have enjoyed reading the banter (TT + mini) , and friendly conversation that is spontaneously happening over at XPC, and I must say that it is something that's been lacking for quite some time here at TIMO.
However, even though I will be moving my points over there, I will still definitely be as big of a part of TIMO as I am now. Just not in the DC area.
I have appreciated the support of Mick, sharder, PJ, WoO, win2kuser, and others that have not slammed us for staying to try to hold on to the team that we once loved and cherished. But, when I think about it, the place doesn't make the team, the people do. Therefore, I realized that the "team" as it were, is actually over at XPC. Most of the guys I started with, and crunched alongside are not here anymore.
So, I just want to say that I will back up everyone here on there decisions, whether to go or stay, and will continue to help out in any way I can, but I cannot continue crunching where there is no joy left. I understand what you all are going through, but I just cannot stay here under the current conditions.
There's nothing at all like the feeling of accomplishment that you get from knowing that you are making a real, tangible difference in real people's lives through this DC project. But, leaving it at that, while still rewarding, will get dull after awhile of the "same old, same old". I totally agree with BS's posts, and realize now that there is not a lot that I can do here at TIMO that will jumpstart this team. We have lost the forward momentum that we once had, and for once in my life, I'm jumping on a bandwagon...

David | Exactly, we are still together, the spirit of this team will not be broken, just at a different address.
I have had to go through this agonizing decision before, with a move from PC911/UD to BBF/UD. It is not easy. It rips at ya. But, you have to follow your heart and spirit. Seeing what was possible at XPC has caused me to re-join FaD, since a large chunk of the team moved over there and it was obvious we were gonna have the enthusiastic active support of MntSnow.
Been running it again since the day 2091 started. But I got my FaD wings here. And for a while it was good, real good. I loved the spirit and cameradie, until we were effectively silenced. What was good, the way it was good is still happening. Just at a slightly different place.

Times change, Teams change.
Anyone with an interest in sport knows that.
The Dallas Cowboys won everthing in the early 90s.
Where are they now?
Manchester United got beaten 3-1 at Old Trafford on the weekend.
Even the mighty fall.
Players move between teams.
In the end, it is about the game.
So it is with any DC.
It's about the project!
What motivates players to commit and succeed.
Benefits the [game] project.
Like many others above.
I moved my DC effort away from TIMO.
Because of the negative vibes we were getting.
[In fact I jumped earlier than most]
But I am still proud to be a member of TIMO.
DC Team affliliations and forum membership are not mutually exclusive.
I find welcome at XPC [although I dont crunch there]
I'm the TC at OCAU [where my team is based]
My best suggestion to those at TIMO who want to move.
Dont agonise about it. Do it. Your points will follow you.
Dont think i'm suggesting going to XPC either.
There are many teams. Its your time, your money, and your passion.
Make your decision without guilt.
But remember. It's about the project!
Cheers Rusty. Team # 2052. OverClockers AUstralia.
