| [Genome] - a little starting info..?
Since there is no sticky for the team, on how to get started.. or a home page that I know of.. I was wanting some information about the client..
I downloaded.. and am currently running the client. I would like to know any of the starting basic.. Will genome upload by itself? can it be stopped in the middle of the wu.. what is the wu.. ? just the 30 conformers it runs? after setting up design algorithm.. or is a complete wu a set or group of these proteins?
Any answer to these questions.. or other unanswered questions I maynot have asked, but would need to know.. will be a big help..
-Sean

| Daft- Welcome to the team! http://genomeathome.stanford.edu
Daft, if you run nonet you will need to upload the finished w/u!
Ctrl-C stops the w/u at the last completed %!
The way I run is nonet on all of my cows, otherwise it will want to upload after each 30 completed sequences.
If you restart the computer it will want to upload, again Ctrl-C to stop it! http://genomeathome.stanford.edu/teamstats.html
The team # is 1312896233
More questions......just ask!

The w/u are in rotamers which is roughly equal to molecules in UD.
The lowest rotamer I've seen is "28" the highest is "91" . That is for me so far!

I'm running UD, Genome and Sengent on my dual 933. I do run genome about 16 hours per day.
Fingers actually gave me the idea (Thank you Fingers) that one could run 2 DC projects on a computer without taking a hit on UD points.
Birdy 1.4 512megs UD and Genome
Birdy 1.3 512megs UD and Genome

I've been running it since last night on one machine. and have it running now on a second machine.. its running a 94 now.. so it does upload then? I'll keep a look out for when I am on hte teamms page.. Also I tried the ctrl+c to stop it before I posted this.. I did do a litle reading before I started asking questions =) but I couldn't tell if it picked up where it stopped.. what is the advantage to running nonet? I have a constant connection.. so that isn't a problem.. |

If I do a Ctrl-C to stop it, for say, to upload UD..... then I run nonet it will run throughh the rotamers...initialize the algorithm and then say for instance Designing sequence 26 of 30

Which cow do you have genome on?

I find that Genome and Folding get together fine.. running the same time all the time.. As I stopped running UD on my k6-2 500.. This way I am actually gaining a extra dc.. so I'm now running UD on 4 mahcines.. Folding on 2 cpu.. and Gennome on 2 pc.. one 24/7 and the other which will be running beside UD about the same amount of time u said for yours.. and I have D2-OL running on one cpu.. I can't wait till I get all my systems replaced by Duals.. that means allot of dc's I will be running then.. =) but I've gone off subject now haha.. =) |

current set up for dc
Dual 1.2 amd MP (Ud, D2-OL, Folding)24/7
1.4 Tbird (Ud-24h, Genome-16h)7
900 P3-Laptop (Ud)24/7 note-goign to see if eccp and ud get along together on that system.. if so it will be a eccp/ud
600 P3 coppermine (UD)24/7
500 k6-2 (Genome, Folding)24/7 |

Daft, I would not count on that 91 rotamer monster being done for 18-24 hours on the 500!
The stats update every 3 hours ......12am ..3am etc, but it takes until 1am or 4am and so on, until we can see the results!
So, that being said, expect a 3-6 hour lag between the time you upload a w/u and see the results!
