I know there is plenty of tutorials for putting Snow Leopard on a PC but I couldn't find one particular to what I have.

I have a Laptop with Windows 7 on it. I really don't use it for anything and want to start using Xcode for apps so I wanted figured I'd give snow leopard a shot on this thing. The difference is that I got snow leopard from a torrent and all the tutorials call for having the disk or creating your own disk and all that. I already partitioned all the space that windows didn't take up and was wondering if it is possible and how to load the snow leopard files on to the partition and go from there. I have no problem removing windows after I was just hoping maybe I could avoid all the dvd burning and converting to do it this way.

AMELIA TEMPLETON, BYLINE: Josephine County, in the southwest corner of Oregon, was probably the hardest hit. The sheriff's department lost more than half of its funding. As a result, deputies no longer respond to emergency calls in the evenings or on the weekends. Calls like this one, made just last August.

(SOUNDBITE OF 911 CALL)

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #1: 911 emergency.

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #2: My ex-boyfriend is trying to break into my house. I'm not letting him in, but he's, like, tried to break down the door, and he's trying to break into one of the windows.

TEMPLETON: The threat she was reporting was real. Her ex was wanted by the state police for parole violations. We're not using the woman's name because it's NPR's policy not to name the victims of sexual assault. She told dispatch her ex had hurt her before.

(SOUNDBITE OF 911 CALL)

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #2: He put me in the hospital a few weeks ago, and I've been trying to keep him away.

TEMPLETON: The call came in on a Saturday at 4:58 in the morning. None of the sheriff's deputies in Josephine County were on duty. So dispatch transferred the call to the Oregon State Police, but they also didn't have anyone available.

(SOUNDBITE OF 911 CALL)

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #1: I don't have anybody to send out there.

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #2: OK.

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #1: You know, obviously, if he comes inside the residence and assaults you, can you ask him to go away, or do you know if he's intoxicated or anything?

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #2: I've already asked him. I've already told him I was calling you.

TEMPLETON: The dispatcher stays on the phone with the woman for 10 minutes and 21 seconds. She tells the caller to try to hide in the house.

(SOUNDBITE OF 911 CALL)

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #1: Is he still there?

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #2: Yes, he is.

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #1: OK.

TEMPLETON: And four times in total, she says there isn't anyone who can help.

(SOUNDBITE OF 911 CALL)

UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN #1: Once again, it's unfortunate you guys don't have any law enforcement up there.

TEMPLETON: According to police records, a few minutes later, the woman's ex-boyfriend, Michael Bellah, used a piece of metal to pry open her front door. He then attacked her. Eventually, state police arrested him, and he pleaded guilty to sexual assault and sodomy, among other charges.

SHERIFF GIL GILBERTSON: There isn't a day go by that we don't have another victim.

Maybe removing guns from the population is the best thing to do. After all, this woman MIGHT be dealing with self defense charges, and survivors guilt instead of hospital bills and the stigma of being a rape victim. Besides, they caught him, isnt that enough?

 ORLANDO, Fla. —

The FBI says a 27-year-old man being questioned by authorities in the Boston bombing probe was fatally shot when he initiated a violent confrontation.

The shooting incident happened early Wednesday in Orlando at the Windhover condominium complex near Kirkman Avenue and Vineland Road, where an FBI agent along with other law enforcement personnel were interviewing the man, identified by the FBI as Ibragim Todashev.

In a statement, FBI spokesman Paul Bresson said the FBI agent acted on an imminent threat and shot the interview subject.

Todashev was killed and the FBI agent was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect WAS threatening a Federal agent. We should KILL EVERYONE who threatens any FBI agent. Isn't that true?

I want to scream "Where is the proof!?!" What do you think? Did they catch another terrorist who almost got away or just another guy caught up in a witch hunt?

I'm just looking for wisdom here because I really don't want to "do it" and then test to see if it works...!

I have Lenovo laptop. Just wiped the drive back to factory settings.

Now, I that I have reinstalled software and files, I'd like to do this using Win 7 system backup / restore:

1. Create ONE full disk image of all partititions. Not hard at all.
2. Then, on the same external drive, set up backups for user files only (no OS I don't care, I'll have the original image).

Now, this all may seem easy, but I had done this once and it failed. When I tried to restore, Win 7 only found the latest backup for the OS (the corrupted one thank you very much for wanting me to always use the "latest backup" because Windoze, you think you're never going to have a real issue.)

You can tell I'm a bit annoyed! I normally do not use Win backup, rather using proprietary software to create and restore an image. I just thought maybe Win has evolved to actually function for once!

Thanks everyone!

Hi so I got my PC built for me I just selected parts but everything is installed on my (C: ) SSD. I understand that for performance Windows should be installed on that however all of the users are installed on there as well and even though I tried to simply copy the files over to the Hard Drive I am having problems because all new files still go to the SSD and I am now having problems with some other files how can I basically remove everything from the SSD except for windows and make it so everything for ever unless I suggest otherwise goes to my HD.
I can try to explain better if you don't understand I have all of the disks for the desktop setup as well should I just reboot my computer and copy the images, music and documents before I do?
Thanks
