Hi ppl
I have a problem with a Toshiba Portege A200 laptop and a netgear wireless router. The problem is that when the laptop is in the owners home with a netgear wireless router and the wireless on the laptop is switched on (via the little switch on the side) the laptop gives a BSOD with the irq-not-less-than-equal message, running fully updated xp btw. This doesn't happen in my home with my network or the previous owners. The BSOD even happened with the router switched off!! I am wondering if other local netwoks nearby can affect the laptop. When it was first swithed on at the owners home it detected other networks and then it went off.
Sorry for the long winded explanation :O( Can other networks affect a laptop in this way?
Thanks for hangin in there :)

Hello all, it's been awhile since I've been here..anyways I am in a bit of a pickle...

At the small business I am working I was recently hired, and along with being the shipping manager so to say, I am the IT Admin also, well the previous guy who setup the network left me with absolute no information, and now I have to reconfigure everything.

Here's how it goes everything from the Gateway if its a straight connection, from it the computers connect to the internet no problem, once I connect the the wireless router to the gateway, and connect all the computer, the router disables any internet connection. I disabled and enabled DHCP on the second router and to no avail at all either.

My router is a DIR-Link 615 Wireless, and my gateway is a DI-604.

Help quickly..

Thanks everyone ahead of time!

2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz Ram
Version 10.5.8
All Software/Hardware Updated stated by Apple Software Update

Router:
Cisco Wireless-N Router Model WRT320N

This is what I've done. Ive changed the Security Mode to WEP, WPA, and WPA2/Personal. In the box that states Passphase I put my selected Password. When I go to the Network Utility and Under the AirPort connection I see my Wireless router network name. I click on it and ask for my password, I type it in and it states "Connection Timeout". So I tried using the Assistance, Same thing, I select my router Name and ask for password but this time it states "invalid password". I tried this for all those encryption and i still cannot connect.

Now Im doing this while im still connected Via Ethernet.

Can anyone help me?

When she would go to a person's page she would not see there page the way it should be but with sign up and log in on left hand side of page. She would get this with both firefox and IE. I just set up a computer for test purposes with xp home edition sp3. Running IE8 I also installed firefox on it to. When I went to view my myspace profile with firefox with out being logged in, I saw the same type of page my friend saw. But when I went to view my myspace profile page with IE with out being logged in it viewed normal. I have been trying to make sense of this with my friend but come up with no good explanation. The way the profile pages show up are the same for everyones profile page. With me it's only with firefox that this happens and only when I'm not logged in. With my friend it happed to her logged in or not and with both IE and Firefox. I'm including two screen shots of Toms page. One with firefox and one with IE. Hope someone has a good explanation for this... is it in myspace, firefox, firefox and IE...

Connect 2 belkin routers to extend wireless network

Hi,

I currently have a very simple wireless network, Belkin wireless router F5D7632-4 connected to the phone line and distributing the broadband wirelessly at work.

As it happens I live across the road from work and can receive the wireless signal in the closest rooms to the road at home.

I have an identical router, (but is has a different software setup I think), and what I would like to do is have this second router at home and get it to extend the wireless network. I think this is called a repeater.

However as much as I try, and trust me I have nearly gone mad, I cannot find a way of doing this.

Please can anyone help - a step by step guide would be most appreciated and if you need any more information please just ask.

Thank you in advance

I have a customer that has a machine located on a server 2003 domain. Whenever he comes in every morning and try to connect to a mapped drive on the server, it gives him a error message ( the local device name already in use.) He can restart and everything works fine. It is just a hassle to tell him to resart his machine every morning. Everything has been working fine till a few weeks ago. He tells me that nothing has been installed (software or hardware). I have remapped the drive today and will check tomorrow morning. Any ideas?

I am able to get the Broadband Gigabyte ethernet component work, but I can not get the wifi to work.

There are only two drivers for XP on the site, and I've tried installing them both to no avail.

Any ideas as what to try next?

Hi All,
I am new to this fourm and I have a newbie question, I run a very small web hosting business I have 1 shared server with about 200 accounts and 15 dedicated servers.

At the moment I control traffic with IPTABLELS to control brute force attacks, etc .. (on each machine).

I purchased at pretty cool Sonicwall Pro 2040 to make things easier on me.
Should I go with NAT or Transparent mode?
Thank You.

I just upgraded to Vista Business from Windows XP Professional. As an upgrade, all of the settings and programs were retained.

However, there is a strange internet problem. Although the system gets out to the internet (e.g. I can go to Techimo) , I am unable to go to Google or Yahoo, as examples. There may be more that I haven't tried. Yet, I am now typing here using that same system.

I also notice that my Windows 2008 server is experiencing the same problem, while another XP machine, a 2003 Server and my Mac are not having this problem. All are on the same network.

The DNS on the PCs are set for the router and the router's DNS is Opendns with my ISP's DNS as the secondary.

Any ideas?
