I've used nero 7 for years, but it wont work on my new Windows 7 computer. I don't want to buy nero 9. I'm looking for the best freeware solution to convert individual songs from unprotected concert DVD's to a smaller file to play on a HTPC. I have tried Handbrake allready. I'm looking for advice on the best converter and file format before I convert my concert collection. I'm also considering Divx 7.

I resently put a modem in my computer (XP PRO) so I could fax things, but right after I started having problems with sound in certain applications. I uninstalled the modem and removed it from my computer, but it's still showing up as a sound playback device in my control panels and I'm still having problems. Any ideas?

Hi I have an ASUS VH222H-P Newegg.com - ASUS VH222H-P Black 21.5" 5ms HDMI Widescreen Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000 :1 Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors

I have it hooked up to my PS3 via HDMI, and I don't like the sound my monitor puts out through its speakers.

Well, my monitor has a line- in port, an Earphone- out port, and a SPDIF out.

I need someone to tell me. How do I route the sound to some speakers here? I need atleast 2 speakers and a subwoofer hooked up to this monitor so I can play my PS3 games with some better sound.

(So far I have learned that the SPDIF out jack on my monitor is for surround sound systems, and I came here for help because ,now, I just learned my monitor has a line-in jack and I have no idea how that can help me, but I would love to do surround sound under $100 if possible)

hey well i got my ipod nano 5th generation the one with the video camera.i have heaps of videos that i have taken with it, but i dont no how to get those videos and put them in my computer. they wont show in my itunes wen i plug it in i dont get it, how do i get those videos and put them on my comp.
I also want to upload a home movie from a DVD to my PC and put it on my IPOD.
Can anyone please walk me through the steps. I have no clue what I am doing!

Installing Optical SPDIF Port

Does anyone know how to install a digital optical (TOSLINK) port? Here's what I'm wanting to do:

I have a device with a SPDIF (coaxial) line-in; I would like to replace the coaxial with an optical port. Does anyone have any clue as to how to do this.

Please do not mention external converters, I know that it is possible to buy an external SPDIF converter.

yesterday i bought a computer of my friend and its running windows 7 ultimate and i pluged everything in and yurned it on and its works fine... except for the spreakers >_<

they are pretty basic speakers, theirs a volume nob a 3D surr button and the power button on one and nothing on the other becides the lettering

Toshiba L15-S104 Audio Driver HELP!

Hello. I have been having this problem for some time now. My older Toshiba Laptop, a Toshiba Satellite L15-S104, running WinXp Home. I just kept my automatic updates on all of this things life. After installing automatic updates and it asked for a restart. I allowed it to do so and now The Contexant Ac-Link Audio driver is now corrupted. I have downloaded the Ac-Link audio driver and various Realtek drivers that were supposed to also work.When I begin to install these drivers I get the result. The file ksuser.dll. So, I searched for this file and download it, and specify where the file is. After this I get the a pop-up that says"Cannot Load The Contexant Ac-Link Audio Driver. The driver file may be missing, try reinstalling the driver again to fix this problem..
I'm now hopeless. Im only 14, and not that much of a computer-literate. Any suggestions?

I want to improve the quality of my gaming videos and movies and such so I'm asking here for lack of a better forum or section.

I need to know what software to use because at the moment I'm using windows movie maker and google is proving to be useless.

I'd also like to know if I should be using Fraps for recording my gaming on PC.

View tuner input over web?

Here's what I'm looking at doing; having a 2.4ghz video receiver that's plugged into a TV tuner card so that it can be viewed on a PC. Simple enough.

But what about taking it a step further and being able to view the video input from the tuner over the web? So for example, if I have a tuner displaying a live input on a computer that is connected to the web, how can I view what that system is receiving remotely from say a notebook at a wifi hotspot?
