HIS HD5770 graphic card question

I am planning to buy the HIS Radeon HD 5770 for my computer. I am just wondering if my PC would be compatible with it. I an just mainly concerned with my motherboard compatibility (which is a MSI 945GCM5-F V2) and whether the power supply I am planning to buy would be enough to power it (a SuperFlower Gaming 650W)? Is there anything else I should be worried about?

EVGA 9800 gtx help with finding a good compatible processor.

Hows it goin.

It's been a while since I posted on this site, I haven't upgraded any of my system specs in a long time and when I bought modern warfare 2 I got my first taste of unsatisfactory frame rates in a while (i never really played demanding games like crysis) I was using a sapphire x1950 pro 512mb video card and an athlon 64x2 2.6ghz~ processor. I finally decided to upgrade to a new card, and I purchased a EVGA 9800 gtx 512 mb card from newegg. The card works great, MWF2 runs like butter now, however I have to turn off shadows or else the game slows down BIGTIME. Not even AA effects the game as much as shadows did. I did some research on the issue I read on a post somewhere in a forum that someone had a slightly newer version of my processor, and EVGA claimed his cpu was not quite enough juice to get the full potential out of this card (he also owned a 9800 gtx).

WELL, I'm looking for full potential. Not familiarized with the current cpu's out there nowadays, I'm looking for a good AMD processor but I don't want to burn a hole in my wallet.

Newegg.com - DFI LP DK 790FX-M2RS AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136044)

-here is my current Mobo, compatible with AM2 and AM2+ cpu's.

any advice pointing me in a positive direction, criticism, feedback, anything would be great. If I really have to spend a lot of cash, I'm willing to do it, but nothing above 250 bucks, I can't just pull cash out of my ass unfortunately :( and I'm on a budget.

PS: I'm considering SLI'ing the new card in the future so if that effects the choice of processor take that into consideration

Trouble using a 4870 and 4350 simultaneously

I have a 4870 installed, and recently purchased a 4350 as well. My goal is to use my 4870 for my main 24" monitor, running games and such on it. The 4350 would handle my 2 smaller monitors, and 20" and a 19", for simple things, like aim, WMP, etc. I had the 4870 running smoothly, and then installed the 4350. Upon booting, I'm not even sure the 4350 is on. A monitor plugged into it says it gets no signal, and after installing the drivers specifically for the 4350 (I was originally hoping the card would just piggyback off the 4870 drivers), it hasn't gotten me anywhere.

My build is:

e6400 OC'd
4870
4350
asus p5n-e sli mobo

What do I have to do to get both video cards to play nicely in the case, so I can have 3 monitors? Thanks!

it only boots in safe mode - when I try to start windows normally, I get BSOD again and it reboots. Is my graphic card fried? or is it a problem with drivers? or is it something with my OS?

I'm using 8800GTX had it for about 3 years now never had a problem before.... please help! no idea what to do

Video card stopped working

Hey guys,

About 5 months ago my video card was working perfectly fine. However, I would occasionally run into spots where my screen would go completely black (though the monitor was still on) when playing a graphics-intensive game, but would flash back to normal; I thought nothing of it at the time, but these events became more and more frequent.

One day when I booted up my computer, the starting graphics (i.e. the Dell logo, the Windows logo, the loading bars, the welcome screen, etc etc) loaded normally, until it came to the point where the Windows interface should have appeared. None of the interface loaded, and even though my monitor was turned on, the green light that normally shows up remained orange, as though it was still in standby.

I have tried re-installing old drivers for my video card, basically everything short of cracking my computer open and fiddling around with a screwdriver.

I am currently running on the basic VGA card, but it just doesn't have enough power to do what I want to do, in addition to other graphics issues.

My video card is an NVIDIA GeForce 5200 FX, and I am running Windows XP.

Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I've recently bought a new monitor (LG W2361V) and it's got a native screen resolution of 1920x1080, everything seems fine and it runs in this resolution according to windows/games. However, when I was browsing backgroundpictures.org I noticed a caption stating "Your actual screen resolution is 1676x943 px.". Confused, I googled for a couple of other websites which did the same thing and reported the same resolution, so JavaScript tells me I have 1676x943.

Does anyone have any knowledge about this? Have I been ripped off buying a monitor which supports a 1920x1080 resolution yet only has 1676x943 pixels? If so are all monitors like this? Surely this would mean that my monitor is in fact not full HD becuase it would be downscaled on input. Does anyone else get odd pixels amounts?

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
