New Computer wont recognize XP disc

Hello everyone,

I recently built a new computer and everything works great. I set up BIOS and start loading XP on my computer. The install stopped me and asked me to put in a full version of windows even though the disc I put in there is the full version. I bought the disc through my college and it has an activation key and everything. Is anyone familiar with what to do?

Thanks,

Matt

Does anyone know of a program that will create an Operating System/application re-installation disk/partition? For example, an image from the factory install.

*$4.8 trillion - Interest on U.S. debt* (http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/19/news/economy/debt_interest/index.htm)
Unless lawmakers make big changes, the interest Americans will have to pay to keep the country running over the next decade will reach unheard of levels.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Here's a new way to think about the U.S. government's epic borrowing: More than half of the $9 trillion in debt that Uncle Sam is expected to build up over the next decade will be interest.

More than half. In fact, $4.8 trillion.

If that's hard to grasp, here's another way to look at why that's a problem.

In 2015 alone, the estimated interest due - $533 billion - is equal to a third of the federal income taxes expected to be paid that year, said Charles Konigsberg, chief budget counsel of the Concord Coalition, a deficit watchdog group.

XP Pro freezes on HP Media Center pc

I have an HP Media Center PC running XP Pro SP3. A few months ago it began freezing up requiring that I pull the power plug to get back into Windows. Then it would just freeze again, usually within a few minutes. It runs fine in Safe Mode. I ran anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, uninstalled or disabled all unnecessary programs and services. I tried all the recommended recovery techniques including System Restore and both versions of the built-in HP Recovery (light and re-format). Nothing seems to work. Hardware must be fine or safe mode would not work right? Any suggestions welcome.

I an just mainly concerned with my motherboard compatibility (which is a MSI 945GCM5-F V2) and whether the power supply I am planning to buy would be enough to power it (a SuperFlower Gaming 650W)? Is there anything else I should be worried about?

Hows it goin.

It's been a while since I posted on this site, I haven't upgraded any of my system specs in a long time and when I bought modern warfare 2 I got my first taste of unsatisfactory frame rates in a while (i never really played demanding games like crysis) I was using a sapphire x1950 pro 512mb video card and an athlon 64x2 2.6ghz~ processor. I finally decided to upgrade to a new card, and I purchased a EVGA 9800 gtx 512 mb card from newegg. The card works great, MWF2 runs like butter now, however I have to turn off shadows or else the game slows down BIGTIME. Not even AA effects the game as much as shadows did. I did some research on the issue I read on a post somewhere in a forum that someone had a slightly newer version of my processor, and EVGA claimed his cpu was not quite enough juice to get the full potential out of this card (he also owned a 9800 gtx).

WELL, I'm looking for full potential. Not familiarized with the current cpu's out there nowadays, I'm looking for a good AMD processor but I don't want to burn a hole in my wallet.

Newegg.com - DFI LP DK 790FX-M2RS AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136044)

-here is my current Mobo, compatible with AM2 and AM2+ cpu's.

any advice pointing me in a positive direction, criticism, feedback, anything would be great. If I really have to spend a lot of cash, I'm willing to do it, but nothing above 250 bucks, I can't just pull cash out of my ass unfortunately :( and I'm on a budget.

PS: I'm considering SLI'ing the new card in the future so if that effects the choice of processor take that into consideration
