PlayStation 3 in Tokyo tomorrow, Sony confirms
Sony poked its head out from behind the curtain long enough to confirm rumors that new PlayStation 3 details will be announced tomorrow at a conference in Tokyo. Ken Kutaragi will address the media, analysts, and publishing partners, in what looks to be Sony's last opportunity to discuss the PS3 before Phil Harrison's GDC keynote. GameIndustry.biz speculates that the event will include information about the pricing, launch date and initial software line-up. Plans to officially unveil screenshots for a PS3 version of Untold Legends have already been revealed (note: the images were leaked last week).

The suspense has been killing it, I even saw the PS3 on news, its becoming a media circuit, Sony just need to keep quiet or say something inadequate to stir it up even more and I'm sure they will, its the exact same thing they did with the PS2.

What more will they tell us? They released pretty much all the PS3 specs and abilitys last year at E3...the only update they could really give us I think is cost, release date, mabey show a few game demos, and mabey the online side of things...if they are going to have an online community like XBL...and if they will, I bet that is what they will talk about most of the time...

That's all the big stuff we wanna know, EX.
The technical specs and such are nice, but we as gamers want the cost, release date, and elaboration on all these things such as downloadable content and online service.

March 14th, 2006, 02:46 PM #5Well, I have a good idea on the price...$350-400...release date I am guessing is going to be nov/december this year...but it could be later...

ASUS is going to be manufacturing parts for the PS3, and PSP...but they won't be able to mass produce them until late this year...

LOL specs were supposed to have been changed since last E3, they announced an upgrade in processor speed shortly afterwards and then there was wild debate, things may change!

The only thing that will truely make me happy is knowing when it is coming. The novmeber announcement is good, but I think they are kidding themselves again.

If it launchs in November things are going to be even worse, in the holiday seasons PS3's will get sold out within hours and you won't be able to get one for at least 2 months, then after that we might not see them on shelves physically for 6 months.

March 16th, 2006, 02:24 AM #11Nah, a Spring release was a joke. This one is reasonable, especially since they're starting production sometime in June I believe.

Yes, this one is completely do-able...the final dev kits will be released soon...so that will give game makers a few months to finish up their games...and unless they run into a very major problem with production(I doubt it) they will stick to their schedual this time.

So should I pre-order a bunch of these to sell on ebay this Christmas?

I couldn't believe how much the 360s were going for.
