Hey all ,
Has anybody heard how Wii is going to have the older games? Is it going to be a monthly fee or per game download kind of thing? It should't be that much since you can play them all on emulators for free.
Thanks,
Jutah |

Well considering you can't legally play them all on emulators for free your logic is faulty. But nothing is really known as to their scheem for downloading and playing all the old nintendo, sega and other system's games. |

Emulation is one of those grey areas in law. |

Yup you can play emulated games if you own the original.
If you don't own the game you can still download and play the game but you have to rid of it within 24 hours of installing it or your a criminal. |

But your second statment is not true...I don't have any idea what moron thought of that in the first place(people have been saying that for years)...but its not...same thing with anything else...you can't steal a car for 24 hours, bring it back, and not be in any trouble can you?
As for the older games, I doubt it will be a per month fee...more like you pay $1-5 on a title...depending on popularity.

LOL I didn't believe it myself until I looked up the law on it.
Once I saw legal documents I was convinced. |

Actually that assumption is wrong with nintendo games. Quote: |
The reprinted lawyer's letter from Nintendo also notes: "Whether you have an authentic game or not, it is illegal to copy a Nintendo game from a cartridge or to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet."

Why would I pay £10 a month to play Chrono Trigger when I probably could just buy a SNES and a copy of the game for half that price? |
