| Crysis Patch v1.3 Permanently Delayed?
As detailed in Crysis Monthly Update #1, it appears the chance of a version 1.3 patch for Crysis is sparse at best. Quote:
At this time, there almost certainly will not be a patch 1.3 delivered for Crysis. We are aware that this news will disappoint many of you, and we would like to apologize profusely. There is a good reason for this and we hope you understand when you hear more about the reasons why in the very, very near future. Please realize this was an extremely difficult decision, but please do know that we are listening to your comments and are making more consistent community support a high priority.

Both FarCry and Crysis are the buggiest games I've ever played in addition to having the buggiest patches ever created. What they basically just said is
"yeah, we're listening to your complaints, but we're not going to do anything about it."

Yeah, I read somewhere that instead of following through with the patch, they decided to make a new game. I forget all the details, but it sounds like they're just gonna release a new game and try to con people out of another $50.. |

Whoa! EA, not patching a buggy game? WHO WOULD HAVE THUNK IT?!
If you bought this game thinking "Well, they'll fix the bugs" you've got yourself a tumor in the right hemisphere. There is not a single EA game that has been properly patched.
Warcraft3 is still getting patched, and it's on like number 40.

Warcraft3 is still getting patched, and it's on like number 40. | This is one time I don't think we can put the blame squarely on EA. Like I said, FarCry was a buggy ass game too and so were the patches. There is but one common denominator here, and that's Crytek.
If EA, being by far the largest game publisher out there dropped PC gaming and stuck to consoles, then PC gaming is as good as dead. |

Here is me take: Personally, I am one of those who happen to love the game, and always did. Right out of the gate , all we've heard is alot of negativity, from those who im sure have thier opinions. Most complaints i find are rather void of any rathinal content. Its a game, not a perfect work of art. is any game perfect? I don't tink so. most of teh reason for this, is all the pre hype and build up, which tends to hyperextend ones subjective thinking or leaves one with less then a real asessment. Sorry for the hyperbolic thing there.
The patches put out for all intents and purposes wer for DX10, and not for any real fixes or game improvements. If you can play the game using DX10 then so be it, but the game IMO is just a gorgeous piece oof work. yeah, it has some quirks here and there. The winter scene near the last two levels is faulty at best, and slows ones FPS doen to a crawl.
Most like me, play the game WTIHOUT any of the released patches. The game plays perfect for me, on a high end ,but not the highest end rig out there, on either Medium or all high settings with some AA added and higher screen resolution. Thats a miracle considering. I tend ot be critical enough but subjective. i expect prefection, but appreciate ones efforts in makng something that is extremely funn and visually stunning for the most part.
Those who have less then a high end machine, should not complain. The game plays just fine on a mdedim end rig on low or medium settings. makng something for EVERYBODY is a had thing to do. If you think different, then get a job as a game maker and put in the time.
My take on the EA thing is totally another animal. IMO, EA is prototypical of todays mergering giants with swelled heads. I happen to hate that company with a passion, esp. their overhyped commercialism. Nothing better usually never comes form that. Crytek, merged with for reasons of money, and or supprt, whichis not a bad thing, but only good if EA just leaves their mitts off the game making and let those boys do thier own works.
Also, having an of us games who like or play the game, wait for patches that do nothing or do not fix known issues is not being very responsible to its legion. The game is OK without any patches. Online may be another issue. I happen not to play that gamonline so, i'll leav that one up to you guys.
P.S. Im still having problems with the old BF series games and the patching system for those slew of games. Just pathetic. I also happen to play the TW golf games, and even those have that stupid EA buggy feel OMG ) |

If you look at the market forces, EA leaving the PC arena could be the best thing that would ever happen. oh, and you're kinda forgetting about STEAM, Activision, and Vivendi.

I'm not forgetting about any of them. EA is the largest, period. You are entitled to your opinion of course, I stand by mine. STEAM neither a publisher nor developer, so scratch that from your list. |
