Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Trailer

    Modern Warfare 2

Looks pretty good, although it's tuff to tell with no actual FPS footage. But looks like it's on the same graphical engine MW and WaW both are, so I'm not expecting to much difference.
    Hopefully the MP is fun.

Does look good although every game out now is all hyped up in the trailer leading it to be a disapointment. Not too bothered about the story really just hoping for lots of MP, mabye will play story if they have done co-op for it aswell.

There were a few shots from the ingame POV, and most of the trailer was done using the game engine. Like you said, you've seen other games using the same engine. You know exactly how it's gonna look.

I don't see how much they can really end up changing while style using the same engine. I tried the codwaw demo and the MP felt a lot like :4. I really hope MW2 isn't just some new skins and weapons, bundled up at full retail price, when in the end it should have just been pushed out as a simple mission pack.

Of course its gonna be. Why would they put more effort in a game when its gonna sell no matter what they do. They get away with doing a full price add-on with a load of new maps and they sell alot of games.

Well this is technically modern warefare II, so I would think you'd almost want to use the same engine, guns, to make the "sequel" part, no?
While I'm a big fan of new engines, and new guns, I would think it'd be a little drastic to switch up both of those if your trying to continue the same character plots, etc.
If they are gonna move to a new engine, and guns, etc, then I'd rather then just start a new series, like they did with modern warfare, to make it less confusing. (but I totally agree WaW should have just been a map pack/mod for like $10. I like the game, but it's to similar to MW, and that game is superior, so I'd rather play it)
    That's just my 2..

Well I suppose at this point it is just a wait and see. But I know that WaW was really underwhelming, and after Red Alert 3, I guess I am just frustrated with rushed sequels in general, when I think there should be map packs/expansions in the mean time, and then something more meaningful when it comes to actually sequels. But that's just me, in the end, business is business (Not to mention all the rehashed cards from nvidia in the last two years).
Speaking of actual sequels, can't wait to see bioshock 2.

Im not really sure how this is much different than people watching it in a movie or doing it in the GTA games. Apparently some people are getting their feathers in a ruffle. Its vile, Ill agree but if you dont like it dont buy it!

I still cant wait for it!!!

Of course parents will go out and let their parents play it with a M rating

I'm far more concerned with the fact that this game no longer supports dedicated servers on the PC side. All MP games will be hosted on client side, meaning on someones computer with a broadband connection, so goodluck with anything more than a 8 on 8 match and even that is probably pushing it. Not to mention the guy hosting who has a 0 or near 0 ping having a clear advantage. This is about as direct as a console port as you can get. No more familiar 24/7 servers that you know will be there at any time of day or night with people playing on them. I pre-ordered this game the day it showed up on steam but have since cancelled it. I may purchase it again sometime after it's release if I read favorable user reviews of how the new match-making system works.

Actually isnt 'dedicated servers' what they are going with?

This is why there is a petition to stop the dedicated servers so peeps can run their own with mods etc....

Absolutly not, there is NO dedicated servers the system will work like xbox live. The games will be hosted on someones computer who's actually playing (listen server)

The petition is to ADD dedicated servers, not stop them.

Source? That's worse than I thought, I figured they would matchmake and host...something like WoW.
