The whole reason I ever bought a PS2 was for GT3 back in the day.

Now it looks like the cycle continues. D*mn you Sony! *God of War III looks pretty good too*

Darn well should be a good game considering it's been worked on for like 6 years or more now.

Nascar looks extremely lame. GT is about nice environments, nice cars, and just plain great race tracks, not nearly identical cars going around in an oval.

    Na' - I think it's cool they're including Nascar.

I've always had the feeling that GT4 was very successful at relaying the sense of excitement in all autosports. No sense leaving out any part of it (even if it's just an oval track )

Now, if they could only get the drifting right. AT LEAST ONCE, in one of the GT releases. The best release IMO for anything to come close to the physics/rules of drifting has got to be the D1GP for the PS2.

Either or, gettin' stoked about another release of GT. Should finally be able to put my Logitech G25 back in action.

Been waiting for this forever. They are certainly taking their time (hopefully to get it right). Is there a release date yet?

Nascar is a bit weird BTW.

At 50 bucks for the official Demo ... I surely hope they dont intend on us shelling out more then another 50 bucks for the damn full game.

As for taking 6 years in development ... Atleast the game is making it to the light of day ... Waves at Duke Nukem Forever ...

    The demo is $50?

    That is just plain stupid.

    Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Review

The paradox of all of this is that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a technology demo. It isn’t even the full version of the game. You don’t have hundreds of cars, or dozens of tracks, or even performance modifications. Even so, this is the best $50 I have spent in a long time.

This "demo" as they call it is still a full blown game with a lot of content
just not as much as the final version

it was more of a fully functional "holy schnikees" teaser

the only racing game that has held my attention for more than 5 minutes, I played GT5 Prologue quite a bit!

    Lets examine ...

Final product - lots of content = ??? hrmmm whats that word?

Normally that would be a demo. A Demo of a game they charged 50 bucks for and still charge 30 for.

A fully functional teaser would be a demo reel or a product test done at E3 with the full game available for testing. This is not "Fully Functional" as that would include the entire game so your contradicting yourself. Just admit it that you paid 50 bucks for a demo.

well if we're admitting things, lets also admit this

I dont care for FPS or Racing games, but find them interesting to try out

Call of Duty IV = spent a few hours playing, got bored.. a "full game"
GT5 = Many hours playing, and many playing with friends ... a"Demo"

Whatever you call it, it all boils down to was it worth it?
    I'd say
    yes for GT5
    CoDIV = waste of money

I've had prologue for quite some time now. As far as demos go, its not typical. Its quite large for a demo. The only thing that made it worth the price is it came out a long time ago when there was no idea when the full game would appear. So it was basically that or nothing for a very long time. They should offer some deal to people who bought it though.

    QFT

The GT5 demo was more of a game than most games out there, even if it's not complete.
