CrimeCraft Video footage
We take a look at Sunrise City, a location in Vogster's upcoming MMOFPS powered by the Unreal Engine 3. Then we get some juicy CTF action, as a dev team member gives us some insight into the game. Crime Craft is scheduled for a release this year and is currently accepting beta applications.

I think this looks really cool. Looks like a mix of GTA's and FPS of some kind, with a little MMOrpg mixed in.
Different for sure.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

You shouldn't be using Internet Explorer

THe game does look neat. I have been wondering when Rockstar was going to make a GTA MMORPG.

Your link was to the windows media player stream which I couldn't get to work in Firefox or Opera, so I assumed you were browsing with IE.

June 24th, 2009, 11:27 AM #8SourceIn addition to bringing in a bunch of new community members into the closed beta over the past couple of weeks, we’ve passed along a big pile of keys to our partners at IGN and Fileplanet. If you haven’t gotten into this phase of beta and are an IGN/Fileplanet member (or would like to be…) jump over and sign up on their side. We’re throwing open the doors in an effort to replicate what launch will be like so we encourage everyone to jump in the game and try to break it! See ya in Sunrise City!Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

Well if you have a IGN account, you can get a key now. If you don't, I believe it's like $8 to sign up. IDK if it's worth that to you, but that is a guaranteed way of getting a key.
I've had mine for a bit now, and have played the game probably 4-5 times.
I'm not really supposed to talk about it, but I can say I probably won't be buying the game. It's kind of hard to start out, and I feel as there are some bugs they need to address before release, but the few big ones on my list seems to get overpassed by the dev's.
I'm trying to keep an open mind about it, as I've never really played a game like this before, but I can say all of the times I've actually fired up the game, I ended up rage quiting.
Just not my style of game.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

Looks OK. In the beginning, it looked like it may be an open map concept more like GTA, but when he got playing, looked just like a normal shooter. Are there different modes? I did like the lack of jumping. That got really frustrating in CS

Yeah there are 3 different modes right now in the beta. IDK if they plan on adding more in or not.
And I just got done playing the game again. This time I uninstalled it. Really the game is far to confusing for me at least in the beginning. I've tried it problably 6-7 times now, and really still haven't the slightest of clues on how to do anything.
I gave up on it.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

Well that's the thing about this game. The actual shooting part is pretty fun, but glitchy I admit. But hopefully that's something that will get worked out in the beta.
But it's everything else in the game I really find lacking. The biggest downfall is there is no "guide" or anything of the sort on the game. And really I've never played a RPG (since chronotrigger that is) so lots of the "quests" and "skill sets" I have no idea how to do, or what it takes to do those. Or for that matter what they really do. That's my biggest beef with the game.
And when you ask other in game players, they all tell you to go to the forum.(which sounds like a good answer right?) The only problem is, the forums don't contain any kind of guide either.
So I guess that's the biggest thing I have against the game.
(I'm trying to keep this kind of general so I don't get in trouble)
EDIT:
I really didn't answer your question did I? lol
Basically, I think it's about the same pace as TF kind of. It's not really a game you can run and gun on easy, unless your weapons are superior to the others. You pretty much find a guy, sit back and try to catch him off guard. The melee attack in the game is impossible to pull of, and if you do, the guys normally get right back up and then shoot you, so it's pretty pointless.
Not only that, but I noticed as people lvl up, there are more and more grenade whores. I bet the last game I played, out of 20 deaths, I'd say probably 16 of them were by grenades.
In the video in the OP, the dev said anyone can compete, that's not what I'm finding at all.Last edited by KarmaKiller; June 24th, 2009 at 05:55 PM.
