Bethesda Softworks parent ZeniMax Media buys id Software

    From Ars Technica:

In a surprising move, id Software has been acquired by ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. The studio will continue operations with very few (if any) changes, but ZeniMax now controls a number of powerful gaming properties.
Now this is truelly something unexpected... Personally, I cant wait to see what this new joint venture is capable of and brings to the table in the coming years.

Follow up article from Ars Technica ...

id Software co-founder is speaking out about the acquisition of his company by Zenimax and why it's a much better fit than joining with some of the other big publishers out there.
