Guild raids on the big screen: Sam Raimi to direct Warcraft
I know its been slow ... so here is the biggest peice of news since sliced bread for the 11 million people playing WoW ...
From Ars Technica:
He got my respect for Army of Darkness and many of his other films ... not every one can be a hit so i will forget about Spiderman 3. Granted this is years away ... This is definitely one to watch out for. Look out Titanic ... or what ever else is the #1 grossing movie ... you better start hoping for some bad press cause otherwise this will overtake them all even if it is garbage!Warcraft comes to the big screen with Spider-Man and Darkman director Sam Raimi at the helm. Very few details have been released, but the fit of property, director, and producer gives faint hope of a quality adaptation.

just as long as they keep the stop frame animation, crude special effects they had in the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness Movies LOL... that would suck if they had that in it.

there's such a large timeline available, it will be interesting to see where the script takes place.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

All I can say is I hope its good. Die hard warcraft fan here, playing wow sad to say since open beta, played wc3 prior to that like a job. Blizzard knows it has such a following that they could put anything out there with warcraft stamped across it and it would sell. For blizzcon you have to pay over a $100 just to watch it on direct tv.
I am sure the movie will be great. But there have been plenty of franchise prior to warcraft that will milk it for all its worth no matter what the cost to the label is.
