Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman .. Arkham Asylum
Surprise there are not threads on this game. This is the first game I have pre-ordered in my life! Demo came out this morning for the 360 and its pretty fun! The only thing that is annoying is the detective mode seems to be designed for gamers that don't game much (it points out vents and whatnot to get out of a room)
Game comes out August 23rd I believe!

I also played the demo and found it enjoyable... The levels I feel will get old though if it is set in a prison the whole game....

I played the demo, and tbh, it was rather forgettable IMO. Nothing new was brought to the table with this game. Kind of ranks with the newer ghostbusters game IMO.

Enjoying the game so far, the free flow combat kind of keeps you involved but gets old after a while.
The story line and the atmosphere is interesting, its like playing a comic book.

Just finished it, there were some parts that had hand holding which makes me sad. Love the graphics, music, atmosphere, and the story line kept me interested. One that that really bothered me was if you were discovered you only needed to use the grappler and swing from two different locations and the bad guys would lose track of you. It also bothered me that Batman would do a sneak attack on someone and you couldn't like Splinter Cell them from behind to get information from them (especially prying information to find out what they been doing for the Joker). Several times I was caught in a silent move where I couldn't get out of it and was shot from behind. (maybe poor planning on my part but it would of been nice to hit someone from behind and then grapple out quickly if someone started running near my location). You do stay on the island the whole time but you arent in the prison 100%. There are like 5 different buildings that each have different levels.
Some of the gadgets were pretty neat, like the ultra bat claw that let you grab people and pull them down (or pull down old walls on top of people) It was fun throwing around the remote control batarang but the regular batarang pretty much locked onto people.
It was great having those from the Batman The Animated series do the voices of their regular characters (I cant imagine anyone else doing batmans voice than Kevin Conroy) and some of the music was used in it. As for replay value? Im not really sure if ill go back to play it again, maybe if I wanted to work more on sneaking around. They have challenge modes were you fight a bunch of people or try to finish a sneak around part the fastest, but nothing really more when it comes to competing with people.
And last but not least, I enjoyed seeing Bane in the game. I loved their version of the scarecrow and the battles with him!

It's holding a 91% on Metacritic right now. Guess I'll have to give it a shot, unless zero punctuation steers me clear.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

Im sure he will review the game and curious what he says about it. It might be some time before he can because of the release delays in other countries which I never understood
