I think COD and Starcraft 2 for this year...

Last year was Skyrim. Now its D3.

Call of Duty has the record for the fastest selling game of all time total including all platforms. D3 is the fastest selling game on just PC alone. CoD sold more on the console than it did on the PC or Mac. If D3 was released on the console (As many fans were hoping for) then it would have sold even more, and may have even eclipsed the record that CoD:BO holds. But CoD:BO still holds the record for the fastest selling game ever.

Skyrim has the record for the fastest selling game on Steam, not the fastest selling PC game or console game. Starcraft 2 has the record for the fastest selling strategy game.


It gets confusing when sites say "Game XYZ is the fastest selling game ever" in their title with only little explanation in the artcle as to what category the game sold the fastest in. Game XYZ's fastest title could be the "Fastest selling 3DS 3D Porno game involving giant flying dildos!"

I could care less what game was fastest selling.

What I was referencing was the amount of threads we get on here every time these new games debut, can usually tell by the amount of new members posting needing to upgrade their CPU or GPU or entire system. On this site and most other forums.

Whats funny is it almost has gone from most demanding to least demanding as well, in hardware needs. BF3, to Skyrim, to SC2, to D3.

I agree. A friend of mine, who dropped over $5K into a boutique custom made desktop a few months ago asked me if his computer could play D3 because he was seeing a lot of people on the intarwebz complaining that their computer was not fast enough and D3 needed such a high spec computer to run at max settings.

I told him he needed to give me another $1K to get his computer to be able to run D3

(And then I told him the truth)
