I"ll answer your question with a question.....
is a lamborghini a nice car?
of course its good....I dont know anything much about video cards but if it is on par with the rest of the system then obviously it rocks!"Even a fool is thought to be wise if he is silent"

The vid card is a deffinite winner although it would be nice to see another cd drive in there. Preferably with a 50x speed or so.....
Fill cups like Double D's!!

Yes, that system is nice!
What type of games are you planning on playing? I ask because, instead of the 9600XT, which is a very good video card, you spend just about $30 more and get a 9800Pro card. The 9800Pro card would just about double your 3dmark2003 score and would give you better frame rates at hight resolutions and high graphic settings. Also, in stead of just a regular CD-ROM, i would suggest a DVD ROM drive. That way if you want to "backup" your DVD movies, it would make the process faster if you did not have to keep removing DVDs to insert blank DVDs. Same goes for CDs.
Very good system though.

unless you plan on overclocking the cpu, you have no need to purchase the corsair XMS ram, it's just a more costly form of ram is it is designed to run faster than listed speeds. (i.e. overclocking)
you could save yourself some money and grab some cheaper priced ram such as:
mushkin
corsair (anything but XMS.. $$$$$$)
GeIL
Kingston
Micron
Crucial
etc...
also, don't forget that you can use pricewatch and contrast the results with resellerratings, or just use resellerratings period to find the best online vendors. You'll find yourself saving all kinds of money.
Final note, don't forget to get yourself a nice, large sized monitor; whether it is LCD or CRT, just make sure that it's at least 17" and flat screened if it's a CRT. Nothing makes the computer worth using like the only part you have to stare at in order to use it--ask any of the "oldies" here at techimo.
. . enjoy

If your going to have an 875 chipset might as well get 2 256 chips to take advantage of the dual channel memory. That'll give you alot better memory bandwith

Dual 256MB? Get two of these:

And they should work very well. But yeah, upgrade the video card choice and it'll be slammin'.

Looks good to me
I agree with pretty much what has been said I am putting together a very similar PC right now. Like was stated the 9800 would be nice for games. The RAM might be over kill but I got XMS also. If you don't care about oc'ing Crucial is a good alternative

Definitely go with 2 of 512mb instead of 256mb

Yeah you're gonna want a lot of ram hehe, but other than that the system will run future games like HL2 and Doom 3 smooth and whats currenlty out without a prob.

Since the release of veitnam, I suggest that you get a faster drive like a sata drive. I'm sure bf1942 isn't going to be the only game that will be slow at loading here in the near future. If you want, you can spend a little more money and get a 5900 non ultra wich will be an increase in performance over the 9600xt. Or go all out and get the 9800XT
