I think what Valve has, is a very serious (possibly critical) case of *shudder*  Featuritis
They KNOW this is one of the most talked about games on the internet and that TONS of people are out there drooling and waiting for it so they HAVE to make it the best and coolest ever!
Then the date gets pushed back a little.. OH that new game has this... maybe we can do that feature a bit better in our game... a year later....
OH FarCry is out, LOOK at that Ocean! You can see forever! OH we HAVE to do that too! 3 years later....
OH Battlefield 2042..... 
kills many good products

why is half life 2 going to be so good? it's just another half life with different levels and different graphics right? doesnt matter why it is good, i will not get it. | |

I'll buy HL2 whenever it comes out, just because I'm a hardcore HL fan. Just like the few guys that are still playing SWAT3. I just hope that HL2 doesn't turn into a pseudo SWAT: Urban Justice.

Check out the video of HL2 that is floating around the net. The 600mb high rez one. After you see that video you will know why people are so excited/ pissed about HL2. It's going to be unlike anything to date.
But if the date keeps getting pushed back, who knows what will come out in the mean time.
I just hope valve remembers those people who bought the ATI graphics cards. If I don't get my free copy do you think I would be justified in downloading the game | |
