I Suck At UT

I don't what happend. I was without my puter for about three months and now I can't kill a person standing still.... I used to be really good. Last night I played Last Man Standing for about 4 hours (haven't done that in a while) and I was out first everytime but twice, and those two times I finished second. Oh well, it's still fun.

Is there a set time when TechIMO players go online to play?? I really don't know any online gamers..

Heh....last time I didn't play UT for 8 months I won a local comp

It's probaly just that u have to get used to the mouse again, remember one lan someone changed the keys which is just annoying but what REALLY ticked me off was them changing the mouse sensitivy slightly...they only did it slightly and I didn't notice and was over and undercompensating with aiming and having REAL trouble....might need to check that out

Otherwise start a practice session, go into mutators and turn on instagib....u will get accurate again REAL soon...or get punished bad

I always seem to suck at UT and Q3, I guess its those types of games, I still play them though, cause their heaps of fun.

I'm a Quaker and find that if i'm suckin at Quake, I whap the sensitivity pretty high (makes you do cool spinney-rotatey moves!) and put on some loud fast music (while playing), and when i'm in "The Zone" I just chill out, sensitivity back down and listen to some Pearl Jam. Alternatively if (lol, personal experience here) Jan and Doc are in the next room, find the most awful CD around and put it on the CD player in that room and close the door (the CD i found was one of Jan's mums christian chanting things).

Put them off no end. I listened to pearl Jam in my headphones .

It's weird. When you DO finally get into "the zone" (like Neo at the end of the matrix) things just HAPPEN. It doesnt feel like you're playing. You dont play the game...you feel the game. (cheesy but Real statement coming up...honest i'm not being deliberately stupid here). You become one with the Keyboard and Mouse. Seems stupid but its true. You blend in with it, and all you can see is stuff happening and "M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!!!"

Insane. Can you tell i'm gettin LAN withdrawals?

Lemon[H]ead, you read my mind! After about a week of no Quake(must...have...QUAKE!!), i begin to suck,...so, its time to startup a Q3CTF4(the space one with the rails and stuff!), and some HARDCORE or NIGHTMARE, and im all fixed!!

P.S. I love listening to Godsmack,Metallica, POD,Linkin Park, etc. while I play Q, it gets the adranaline(sp?) following, and its time to kick some major(pun intended a$$!)

wow, before this thread i hadnt played quake or half life for a while. Now i installed quake 3 again, installed half life and downloaded the patches for them...coincidence??

I'm off to play q3DM7 with about a million bots, on hardcore mode...

Ooooh, that would be cool. It could be password protected, our own little server! And maybe we could FINALLY create a clan. We could add [TechIMO] or [TIMO] or something to our names.
A different clan for each game would distribute our peeps out without there being 500 members to the [TechIMO] clan!

Seriously though, I totally agree with some of the previously given advice. Makes a HUGE difference to have your machine set up just right...I can't hit anything till I get the sensitivity dialed in and my keys bound.

I've been playing the bots set to a fairly easy skill level, with lots of em on the map, and limiting myself to the sniper rifle. Then I go dive into the lot and try to head shot them up close. LOL....I figure if I get really good at that it outta piss people off something crazy...boy I love that sniper rifle. I figure learning how to use it in closer will be an especially deadly skill.

Wooooo...it's awesome getting "in the zone"!! You don't miss, you avoid missles, shoot down that redeemer and just can't die!!! It just takes a few days to get reacquainted with everything...I'm itchin' to play it now.....

My friend came over w/ his comp and i w'upped him 40-10 (if he even got 10) at Quake3. Practice does indeed make perfect (i been playin a lot recently).

I really ought to make my Quake'in really good for next tuesday (when everyone's comin over for a LAN party).
