US Marine David Armstrong dies because he has to "Wait for others"

Operation flashpoint. Been a great game up til now. I just Killed almost every single guy in a village, and covered a team-mate's ass as he Kamikaze ran into their fire. Lucky for him i took most of them out.

So i have to steal some suicidal RPG Soldier's RPG (cos the stupid pr**k died),

I then take down a "Shilka" (which is an anti aircraft tank which decided to shoot ME instead of my 10 or so buddies and continued to fire at ME

...i then pulled out the rocket launcher, skillfully took out the shilka and fell back into formation. Then my leader tells me we have to take out ANOTHER shilka, so we run (just the two of us. the other 5 or 6 suicidal maniacs decide to stand still and look at each other) to another village, take out hte shilka and hide in bushes till a helicopter comes and takes out the rest of the tanks.

He takes out the tanks, my leader runs in front of some bloke and gets blown apart, I rip him apart with my M16, and 2 of his mates. I then proceed to a point where i'm told to "wait for others"
It seems the "others" aren't in much hurry to arrive. Soviet troops are advancing and i'm still "wait for others"ing. I take out about 5 or 6 advancing soldiers and then receive two bullets. I die. The camera then pans aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way back to this bloke and his AK74 who runs to a tree and runs back again.

I die because I am forced to wait for the others who seem to think this is a leisurely stroll in the f**king park, not a war against evil commies

sorry, i'm just SOOO annoyed. The level has been made pointlessly difficult (where are the "others" and when should the "others" arrive?).

GRRRRRRRr...i'm off to play RTCW instead!
    feckin thing!

i got past that bit and then got promoted to Lieutenant and the CO said he couldnt be happier etc...a mission or so later i go looking for a russian base, find it, return and then i find the CO reckons i'm a prat and dismisses me from duty...

Why? Was it cos i fired 8 rounds on my full Automatic XM177E2

    What the hell? I'm confused.

Why is the AK74 superior in EVERY way to the M16?
Why are the russians SUPERSUPER accurate and my guys couldn't hit a barn door? No, seriously, this is supposed to be the USMC, the second best fighting force in the world (after the Royal Marines, natch ).

    LOL

About what happened........and people say this game compares to Ghost Recon (where the friendly AI provides cover fire, protects you and moves with you almost like your best friends....,etc.).

    *sigh*

You played the Medal Of Honour: Allied Assault demo, wart?

I dont think it'll be realistic enough for you, but the enemy AI is pretty good (the teammate AI is pretty straightforward "Hide behind Lemon[H]ead" stuff)

In a review In PCZone (i'm getting less and less fond of this mag and beginning to lean toward gamespy), they said the AI was amazing and if an AI player was behind you it would move out of the way to let you back. Not so! I was getting pounded and was frantically trying to move back (thinking my D key was stuck) and i looked round to see 3 of the guys on my team surrounded my behind...

    weirdos...

I thought the AI was great for the enemy in MoH:AA.. now on the other hand.. in close combat.. your buddies stink.. they were costing my hits left and right.. I just wanted a comand to tell them to stay put.. I'v played enough fps games to know how to control a situation of a number of enemy.. unless they start flanking u hah.. they use to do that in Flashpoint.. rememebr the first time I sat in one place to long and did some snipering.. =) but I move off point.. the AI for the germans is good.. I just wish your backup was just as good..
