Gilthanaz, lo mate, i noticed you suffer from the exact same problem as myself.
I do however manage to get on to bnet by simply just waiting it out, as in alt+tab & grabbing a smoke after a while it actually connects.. weird
if i hit cancel while it's trying to connect the game stalls .. weird once again..
i have the same 'delay' issue with blizzards patcher, standalone or automatic.
i'm starting to believe it has something to do with windows 2000, as i've never had this problem while running wc3/x on XP.
let me know your full hardware specs so we can rule out the stuff we do/do not have in common. |

I would agree with you that its just win 2000, but I had ran the game just fine on win2k for months, and then i uninstalled and later decided to reinstall wc3 and i had this problem. Its been unstalled and reinstalled in attempt to fix it, no such luck, patches dont fix it, registry cleans before intalls dont fix it, but i havent tried just waiting until it connects. I had waited about 5 minutes once and it didnt connect, but I'll try waiting longer. Thanks for digging up this thread, i had lost hope of anyone having the same problem.

and you've had no change in hardware since when wc3 ran fine on your w2k install?
if none, my guess would be that some w2k hotfix, or possibly one of the service packs does something evil to wc3, or vice versa
for the record, i experience the same type of delay in execution with MSN Messenger, coincident? i think not, but i've yet to find out why these applications act this way. |

Make sure there aren't any overzealous firewalls like Norton Worm Protection blocking the game. |
