| Warcraft 3 freezes when accessing battle.net I just did a fresh install of War3, it had been off my computer since I reformatted quite a while ago. All aspects of the game work fine, single player custom games and campaigns work fine, but I can't seem to get on battle.net. It will say initiating connection to battle.net and never get past there, and when i click cancel, war3 freezes. Im running windows 2000. This is different than the issues I'm having with starcraft, because starcraft freezes up whenver you try to start a single player game or access battle.net.

| download the patch from the website.
Choose your correct gateway on the world thing and connect.
Do you have a firewall or router? |

| Didn't help washe. Yes I'm behind a router, but it is already configured with port forwarding for war3 and battle.net. |

| I tried that, it didnt work. I noticed as I was messing around with my router settings that when i screwed something up and my internet connection no longer worked, war3 didnt freeze, it just wouldnt log on to bnet and gave me an error message after trying to connect for a few secconds. I reset my router settings and re-did all the port forwarding stuff again, it didnt help. I'll try to reinstall war3 and see what happens. |

| Yes, they are really the only PC games I have installed right now. I went ahead and installed frozen throne, and updated to the newest patch. When I try to cancel after it wont connect to bnet, it freezes. Note that when my internet connection is down, I get the error I mentioned before after war3 unsuccessfully tries to connect. When my internet connection is up and running, It just keeps trying to connect for as long as I let it unti I hit cancel, then it freezes. I might try bypassing my router and hooking straight up to my cable modem to see what happens. |

| Sigh, I'm having blizzard withdrawal. Are there no suggestions to help fix this? Everything in WC3 that doesnt involve being connected to battle.net seems to work just fine. I can't connect and when I cancel, the game locks up. I checked out all of blizzard's tech help and found nothing about freezing when trying to connect. Just stuff about my router and port forwarding which is set up as it should me. im frustrated! |
