| What are your DOOM3 settings?
Just wanted to make a thread about what we are using to play DOOM3 and how high we push our systems with this new game... . Post your systems and the settings you have DOOM3 set on!!
Here is my system:
AMD AthlonXP 3700+ (2.45ghz, 210 fsb)
Geforce 6800 Ultra OC (430core/1.10mem)
MSI nForce2 motherboard
1 gigabyte Geil DDR400 (at 420mhz) Ram
Audigy 2ZS with 4xPolk LSi7 and SVS PC+ subwoofer
Samsung 193P 19" LCD
Doom 3 settings:
1280x1024
Ultra settings
4x Antialiasing
8x Anisotropic Filtering
Ultra Quality
FPS showcount show about an average of 50-60fps, with about an average of 40-50fps during intense, scary, jump out of my chair scenes!! |

Athlon XP @ 2133Mhz
1024mb
800x600 medium with a pretty pathetic average 20 FPS.
Are 4400's that much faster?
com_showfps 1 in console which is ctl+alt+tidle
Also, timedemo demo1 should do a little benchmark.

ahh well guess i was a little wrong, when the action starts im gettin bout 25 fps and just walkin round im getting 35 - 40
I tried going to high quality but that felt to be probly bout 10 fps, then i tried 2x AA and that felt somewhere round 15 - 20
have to test the fps for both them and get back to ya |

Athlon XP 1900
Via KT266A
768 PC2100
64M GeForce 2 GTS
I'm thinking I'm going to be one of the few low end guys who actually attempt this game, but, When I turn off all the advanced options everything is nice and smooth, I average about 20 fps during action and get as high as 50-60 when everything is calm. I was all worried when the requirements came out, but I saw a GeForce 4 MX listed and I was pretty sure the GTS could handle it. If I turn the advanced settings on I dip into the 8-10 fps during action (unplayable) and can only get 20-30 for my highs (when just about nothing is moving). But at least it's playable at low settings and everything still looks very nice, although not as nice as those of you with speedy machines . I figure if I can handle Doom 3 now, Half Life 2 shouldn't be a problem and then I can upgrade my comp sometime next year when prices are a little more reasonable. |

What about all you ATI users? I haven't bought the game yet but my specs are..
Radeon 9800 Pro
Abit IC7
P4 3.0C
1GB PC4000
Although I doubt I'll have any problems, my concern is driver issues with ati cards. Can anybody confirm? |
