having problems with half life
i just bought half life platinum edition and every time i try installing it it says C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. im using windows XP and i dont know what i have to do.

Found this for you on the old internet.
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem errors
If your operating system is Windows XP Professional http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spencer...XPProfiles.exe.
If your operating system in Windows XP Home .http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spencer...PHomeFiles.exe
To use these files, download the correct one to your hard disk and then double click it. It will extract the files to your C:\Windows\System32 directory and overwrite the existing ones. Reboot your PC. Note that this fix is for Windows XP only and assumes that Windows is installed on your C: drive.
