Is there a way of getting a PS2 from an online website? Obviously from Britain because we have the same PAL system here. Amazon don't send consoles out of the UK, are there any other trustworthy websites to look at?
What's the story with chipping? Can you do it yourself? I read somewhere about discs that do the same job. It just starts to sound a bit complicated and messy.
I would really appreciate any advice in this situation.
Thanks in advance! |
Oz=Australia?
Anyway you can pick up mod-chips, the best being the DMS3, theyve been banned in Britain but I'm sure you can still find one online somewhere and I'm not sure if theyr banned oin Australia either.
You can get a PS2 from a lot of places online.
When you put a disc into your Playstation 2 a part of the BIOS reads a little code to verify that disc is not copied and from that region, a chip is a little add-on and what it basically does is tell the BIOS the disc is legit.
You can get differrent kinds of chips, some that are solderless but those arent as good as solder chips, you can chip yourself, most websites send you a detailed guide, its best to practise before you chip your PS2 though, chances are youll succeed but its always best to be on the safe side.
A swapdisk is a disk that you put into your PS2 and then it boots up, you take the swapdisk out and slap in the game and it boots up the game, problem is they cant read a lot of games and dont work with DVD's.
My advice is buy a pre-modded PS2 from America with a DMS3 modchip built in, its hands down the best chip available, since mod-chips are now illegal in the UK you wont find a modded PS2 on sale at a store, maybe ebay.
Hope that helps.
