Yeah, and two weeks after that, the price will become somewhat reasonable - maybe. What makes it worth $50?

    Thumbs up

so many people love sims that this game could be $70 and people will still buy it

but i see what you are saying and i agree $50 is too much to pay for video games these days
i wait to most of the games i want go down to $20 or $30

i gave away the sims....the first one was alright, but after the 4-5 expansion pack and trying to load them all in a specific order to make it work right...ahhh forget it...

ya, I did play for a bit.. but the # of expansion packs was ridiculous
I think it would of been better if they would of made the exp packs cumulative, so it would include the previous one
but that would make EA give a rip about customers.

I also found Sims to be extremely buggy, and never got patched. Typically the only time they released patches was in the next expansion pack

I agree, if you pay 50 dollars for the games and then another 50 dollars for each expansion pack after that so you can have the cool stuff you'll end up spending about 400$!!! on this crazy game...assuming they have like 7 expansions like the first

There is a thread in community.

I think for expansion packs, its ok to charge. It IS additional features and they do add a lot of content.
    However, I do they overcharge
I think considering they're primarly just bulding on an existing product with the same engine, and physics they should charge maybe 20 dollars for each exp pack.

btw, you can turn off sigs in your user profile.

well I think housing should be free.. and cable should be free.. and my truck should be free... but in reality.. those items require someone to make them.. package, or ready them for market.. all of which takes time and money to do so.. It takes investment.. of which you may not see a return on..

Sorry but I have no problem with expansions costing money when you are adding content to a game.. a few new maps for a fps game is not the same as adding new abilities, scripting for those new abilities, new graphics, and models..

As for Sims 2 being worth it.. If you have to ask that question.. then the game isn't for you. Almost all games that come out are 50 bucks.. that is no surprise.. and if the game is good it will retain that 50 dollar value.. if it stinks it will drop in price fast..

So if it is a game you want.. you will pay the 50 bucks, without having to ask.. b/c you know you will enjoy the game.. Otherwise skip it.

The Sims is about the only game my wife ever got addicted to. I played it for about a half hour once. TIMO is my virtual life.
