Since you have so many trial accounts, I suggest trying them all.


My favorite Class to play is either a Shaman or a Mage. But being a mage requires you to be quick with the keyboard. If you are good with fast paced games like first person shooter than you will love the mage class.

Actually, don't even use the Guest Keys. When you use a guest key, you have to put in Credit Card information. If you go to the WoW website and sign up with an account through that, you don't have to give them any Credit Card information.

If you signup through the website, you can even download a trial version of the game so you don't even need to borrow your friend's CDs.

Also, if you decide to purchase the game, let one of us WoW players know so that we can do the "Recruit a friend" program. This will give, whoever you decide, a free month of game time.

Hmm, according to this link, I will still need to enter credit card info.


Do I have to set my own stats like in Diablo 2? Also, these are the trial account restrictions.

* A level cap of 20.
* A maximum of 10 gold.
* Trade skills are capped at 100 ranks.
* Inability to trade via the auction house, mailbox, or player-to-player.
* In-game chat channels will be unavailable.
* A limit on the number of tells that can be sent.
* Accounts will no longer be able to whisper other players unless they have been added to those players' friends lists or have received a whisper from them first.
* Realms with login queues will give priority to customers with retail accounts.
* Will not be eligible for the Paid Character Transfer service.

My stepson said I can hit level 20 on the 2nd day of playing...is that typical? Also, what do I do for fun once I hit 20 if I have several days left on the trial account? A max of 10 gold...how much can 10 gold possibly get me? What is a "chat channel"? I will be able to talk to other people in the game, won't I? Is a "tell" when I speak directly to one person in the game?

Please feel free to give me any other advice that might help.

hmm, I don't remember the restrictions being that strict, but apparently you won't be able to chat in the channels. A tell is a pm, you can probably say things that are visible to those nearby but you won't be able to talk in the general zone chat from the looks of it. Unfortunately those restrictions are in place because gold spammers get the 10 day trial accounts and spam everything the can get to before they get banned.



oh, and I switched to tailoring for the epic dmg gear. I'm up to 218 and hopin for 350 tonight

can't use ah or trade with other toons or use email with a trial account. one month paid would be a better option if you wanna get a feel for the game...........

tailoring still brings meanbean in a lot of gold. subsidises all other toons and bought my epic flying skill a looooooooooong time ago .......coupled with mining ofc

first epic drop last night on any toon......

You will set your own stats starting at level 10. You can respec so these aren't permanent placements any more. If you have never played you will not have to worry about hitting level 20 in 10 days. I am a veteran and it took me 2 evenings and a full saturday to make 20. You'll be figuring stuff out for the first week.

10 gold is plenty for a long time, you'll have trouble getting that much money to begin with. You can chat locally, but not in zone wide or in private messages.

Be prepared, it is addicting.

All depends on the server, pots don't sell for shit on my server but herbalism makes good money. Maybe since stormrage is so old everyone that wants pots already has an alchemist or knows one lol.
