I have a half life 2 dm question??

Ok my friends giving me a free copy of half life 2 im guessing the box version, hes getting a new computer from I buy power.com and they are giving him one if he buys a system( thankfully he is) and he already has it so hes giving me the one hes getting ok theres the story now the question. he bought his through steam (silver edition) and has deathmatch he tried to get his friend to play with him (friend has box version) and his friend couldnt get deathmatch. I dont know if he couldnt or he doesnt know how to, but if I get the box version do you think I will be able to get half life 2 deathmatch???

You just download deathmatch through Steam. Maybe the servers were bogged down when he attempted to download...

ok sweat, cause I thought my friends friend might have had just a little problem anyway thnaks, I think deathmatch owns if you find a non laggy server
