    Why not Source?

I went to this lan gaming center and everyone was playing the first counterstrike when they could play the source version. I asked someone why then prefer the first one and they just said they like it better. I don't get it, I LOVED source. All the textures and everything looked a lot better. So what's up?

    I like peanut butter....

Point is, just because you like it, doesn't mean every will or does.

I was playing cs since the first public release and it seems like they always do something that makes me hate it little by little.

To be honest i dont think cs:s is nothing to write home about. Yah it was cool at first with the new effects and whatnot. But im a true born DOD fan now

    come on DOD:S!!!

But you need a better system to handle the new source engine... I bet the CS gets better FPS performance without source.

actualy i get higher fps on counterstrike source than i do on regular counterstrike and i have a lot of settings turned up at 1024 768

dont ask why but maybe this means you loose your bet?

    source is a great game

    improves on everything

maps.... better and CAN be bigger if you want to play a bigger map

physics!!!!!!!! OMG you cant shoot through 2 foot thick brick walls????

physics alone makes the game more fair and much more enjoyable

then there's that, but the guys at the gaming cafe were playing the first cs with systems that could easily handle source.

Is there a better "feel" with the first one?

Not surprising if you use an ATI card. Half life 1 and all its mods hated ATI cards. HL2 and the source engine is of course, optimized for ATI cards. Radeon owners rejoice
Mr. Jiggyfly, I have good news...
