Anyone else having lag where you can only play for about 10 minutes before the game lags to the point where you get 0 fps and then eventually get kicked? Its weird cause my ping is low (50s-70s). Are there any ports that I can open up to improve this lag?
Thanks,
Duckhunter

Nope no torrents open. All I have running that would access the net is AVG and Windows Firewall. I have a DSL connection (I think 128k or something like that)
System Specs:
3.2 GHz P4
Moblitiy Radeon 9800 (basically 9800 Pro/XT)
512MB Ram
It's weird because I can get 50-60 fps when the lag doesn't kick in. When it does kick in I get a little red warning in the top right corner saying "Connection Error" which leads me to think something is blocking info from being sent. |

Maybe you need to alow the program(not port) for windows firewall. Just go into the options and add the executable. If that doesn't work, I just don't know .
I'm playing 50fps and 45 ping just a few minutes ago, so its nothing to do with the servers.
Your internet connection is quite slow, though. I have about 1.3mbps and the same ping as you, so maybe your ping is "lieing." |

Maybe so. Like I said, I don't know my actual connection speed (maybe it's 512k that might make more sense). I'll try playing with the firewall and AVG off and see if that makes a difference. |

Well I just tried it without any firewall or AVG running and 10 minutes later I got the lag of death. Ping was 63 and everything was running fine, then it just locked up, jittered back and forth, and kicked me. Any ideas? |

Hrm, try going over to www.steampowered.com
Search the forum and look through the suport center stuff. Try varifying your files, if anything is screwed up it fixes it. I used to get lag at Dust2 by the bombsite, but I went through the file varification and it fixed it. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to say. |
