| Can't find Key in Registry
Try as I might, I can't seem to figure out where Halo hid the stupid CD key in the registry. I'm trying to find it because my friend lost his case during a move and is planning on rebuilding his PC completely fresh- which means we need to find the CD Key before we wipe the HDD.
I've done searches in the Registry and manually searched the Halo folders I could find, but came up with numbers that were short a few digits. Anyone have Halo still and can find where in the registry it's hidden?
It's real easy to find if you have the original key, all you have to do is use the search function in REGEDIT. The only thing I could do is do a wild card search, but I don't know how many digits the key is...I think 25.
Anyone? |

I hate to be so plainly obvious after you've done thorough searching, but it's not in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ folder? |

Belarc Advisor might list it.

Nope, I've searched for enough CD keys to know where the obvious locations are Mr. Mooderator
Googling only got me a bunch of CD key generators, which I'm not interested in. Dealt with enough virus' in the last week to last me a few months
Belarc Advisor...what is that you speak of? And what does it do? |

Okay, I just tried it on my system. How come I didn't know about this AWESOME program until now??
I can't imagine not being able to find the key on the other computer after I install it. |

Maybe ya' can blame it on the Minnesota Brain Freeze Syndrome!

Of course, if the other system won't boot we might have a problem. At least I have a solution if I can get it to boot again. |
