Well, from what I've found out SO FAR about both systems is this:

Xbox 2 will have two versions: a 300 and 400 dollar one. The cheaper one will feature no backwards compatibility and no hard drive, but the 400 dollar one will have backwards compatibility and will come with a detachable hard drive.

Xbox 2 will feature wireless controllers only; as you can see from the leaked pics, it has a single port to plug the RF receptor in (I'm assuming it's RF and not IR), but it has been confirmed to use wireless controllers.

Xbox 2 will feature memory card ports and will have a dual-core (triple-core?) processor.

If anyone knows any more, go ahead and add to this list.

PS3 is going to be using up to eight of the mystery-shrouded Cell processor.

PS3 will have connectivity support for the PSP, so it may feature a UMD and memory stick duo drive.

PS3 will feature a built-in 15GB hard drive and built-in ethernet support.

PS3 will be backwards compatible.

Feel free to add to this list.

We won't be sure on anything completely until May 16th, though.

hmm that's a new 1 jim, since the ps3 is going to be bluray complient, going on the info i've been told, and its still unknown if the ps3 will be backward compatible or not...

due to the problems thier having with the cell chip i can't see a release date for may 16 2005, while the xbox 2 may be releases at that point, i give it a year or 2 before the ps3 gets a release..

til it gets a release the ps3 is still pure speculation there's nothing set in concrete so far, so the final specs on the ps3 is unknown and is still to be determined whether it will have the power to put the xbox2 to shame or will it perform better than expected, it is still an unknown...

No, the PS3 is NOT going to be released this year. I'm speculating Q1 or Q2 of next year. The Xbox 2 is going to be released around the end of this year. I havn't been paying much attention to the Nintendo Revolution, so I have no clue about the release date for that.

Not because I'm a fanboy, but I really hope the PS3 puts the Xbox 2 to shame. It's because of so many Xbox fans I've met, and when I worked at GameStop, I've noticed that both online and off, they're obnoxious people.

I just hate Xbox fans with a vengeance.

And yes, everything is unknown, but that doesn't mean our speculations are wrong.

Um, no I'm not dude. I've met Xbox fans in real life and online; they're all asses. Stereotypical means taking something such as, all cops are pigs, and saying it when I have no clue, since I've never met a cop personally.

I have met Xbox fans, most of them being online, but the ones in person would say things like, "That game would be better on Xbox." or "Why do they still sell the PS2?" or they would have console wars in the middle of the store, and they started the argument.

If you go into any Xbox message board and just read topics and replies, you can tell they all have a really nasty attitude about anything except Xbox.

I own all three systems too, but I'm saying Xbox fans. Not people who own an Xbox.

Well strong rumors are saying for the nintendo revolution that it will use ATI's form of SLI in the console, god would that be awesome for a system

i wouldn't rely on what E3 has to say as that's the biggest rumor mill of them all and as such it will be mainly pure speculation at best...

PS 2 has a much bigger selection for games while i think the graphics are nicer on the Xbox IMO. Neither come close to a good graphics card on a PC but i own an Xbox but mostly game with the PC. its really preference. check out some titles for both consoles at an ebgames, electronics boutique or similar to get a better idea. at the end of the year i read Xbox 2 will be released. stupid bastids, microsoft. how about making more games and putting more into the development of the original?

I agree with you. Not because I'm Japanese and I support my national product but really, I've seen a lot of game shows from the Westerns and even from over here. There are lots of games from either side; X-Box and PS2. But majority of the games that gets really high rating (or marks), you can only get it from the PS2.

Its a fact and I even seen it. It's happening every year. The average rating for PS2 games get 80%. While X-Box, according to the game show that I often watch, I rarely see games that gets high rating but only some is quite satisfactory.

This means, you can always find cool, awesome, superb games over at PS2. There are plenty of excellent games you can choose from, even though PS2 specs isn't as high as X-Box. But that's not a matter. What matters, is the quality gameplay that you can get from PS2.

This thread is basically about X-Box and PS2, not about Gamecube. So put Nintendo to the side.

I recommend PS2. Seriously I say, majority of the games available on PS2 are superb and adult gameplay. That is why, until today, Sony is still selling PS2 just like 3 years back from its release.

cause nowdays most games are on multiple console platforms there isn't to many games out there anymore based on a 1 console system unless it happens to be a cash cow for the company...

God Of War. Its only on PS2. Not a cash cow since its the first. But rumors say ps3 will have a 2nd one! (drool) God of War alone was worth me getting the PS 2. Very happy with ps2. But there are a good # of exclusive titles for all systems. Gamecube has Metroid and Zelda (cash cows). Xbox has DOA, and few others that are only on their system. I just went with what had the most top rated games as suggested here and with larger # of games thats easy to achieve.
