CS 1.6 Dedicated Server Help

I am running a server on my home PC, just a map test server for some of my friends, but everytime i shut it down and restart it later or the next day it changes IP.

Is there any way to get a static IP? Any help would be appreciated.

Could you describe a little more what your network consists of?

Internet going straight into the computer? Internet going to a router then to multiple computers? Internet to a switch/hub then to multiple computers?

Thanks.

You can only request a static IP through your Internet provider, and they will most likely charge you extra for one, if it is offered.

For home users, you usually dont get a static ip. If you want one it usually cost.

simple solution is:

If it is DSL then It will change everyday like my old one. I used to do it all the time in CS1.6.
cable changes but every 6 months or so.
Static IP is usally $10/month so no need to call. :0 i tried like you too,

Why isn't the IP on the server the same as your personal Internet connection??

Messiah most likely he has a Router or something using DHCP

micah9 just assign it a static ip address on your private network
