| Lineage 2 vs WoW: from a GM's standpoint Quote:

Literally one quest is kill 100 of a mob
no real reason, just go out and kill 100
AND thats IF you can find a quest! VERY few quests to do in Lineage 2... god I hate that game LOL
Literally all you do to level is kill stuff, over and over and over. There is zero content in the game.. sure its pretty to look at... but pretty gets old after you're grinding for a few months and maybe level 40 if you live your life by the game.
Guildwars will be good if you like PvP.. there's little to no "RPG" to it.
WoW is by far my fave
Lineage 2, I could play for 30 minutes and start falling asleep.. you couldn't pay me to play that game again.
GW bores me, but I dont like PvP and like Washe I hate the way you have to party inside towns
WoW is a lot of fun, with a huge world to explore. Beware if you're a power gamer though, if you play for 20 hours a day you'll quickly get bored because you level fast. | Sigh this is why L2 Private servers exist. I have played all of the above games mentioned and if you want the "MMO" experience you can play a private L2 server with low rates or if you just want all out pvp mayhem L2 private servers with high rates are the best I've seen. And best of all THEY'RE FREE TO PLAY!!! As far as WoW is concerned I have played both retail and private servers and have even GM'd a private servers of bow WoW and L2. WoW does have it's benefits such but most of the good things about WoW turn out to be a double edged sword at times... For example If you are Alliance you are not allowed to kill Alliance members same goes for Hord... While it is technically possible to do it in the retail version you will usually suffer great concequences from other Alliance members, and most private server GM's will ban you for it. The worlds are both Huge... Not doubt about that however most of WoW requires long travels on foot, which don't get me wrong I appreciate it during a quest but I don't want to have to waste 15 minutes of my life running and hopping to a far away town just so I have have a new riding point.. Which btw the ride is still a waste of 5 minutes of my life... Lineage 2 on the other hand allows you do tele from most towns to most towns which cuts out most of the useless timewasting walking.. WoW does have some teleporting but generally it's only between the major cities which happen to be few and far between. Graphics wise I believe L2 to have the edge though WoW's graphics aren't terrible they do lack detail and even on the highest settings I wasn't terribly impressed. All in All I would have to say the L2 beats out WoW on most levels of gameplay but in the end it really has to do with what you're looking for. PVP, role playing, large scale battles... both have them all it just depends what style of gameplay you're looking for and what you want the game to look like when you play it. As a GM though I have to say that I much preferred being a L2 GM simply because you can quite literally do anything you can think of :P |

Let's just say that it's a good job Guild Wars doesn't charge a monthly fee. If it did, nobody would play it over games like WoW. | Man, if you dont know what GW is about, than just stop playing, please. You are not worthy. Stick to WoW and leve GW comunity alone. GW is for players who have the necessary inteligence to get a reason to play out of nothing. Let me give you a hint. "Helping new players" is a very good reson to playthe game over and over and make then say: "Where did u get that shield, or axe, or armour?" or "How can I play with you if you are lvl20 and I am only lvl5? In WoW u cant co that !"
So if you dont know what to recomend, than it is better to stop doing it. |
