More then 9/10 My uncle JUST sold a camping resort, and he still has his 27" Tube. I've tried to talk him into something more, but he doesn't watch TV much anyway, so...I won't be going over to his house to watch TV I guess

The new systems should work on reg. TVs. No way are their customers gonna buy a seperate AV cable set just so they can play on a regular TV. They'd have to be crazy to not make it non-AV.

Ya they would never sell enough to pay for 1/2 the development costs if it was HD only!

I have no doubt they will work on regular TV's... However, I plan on purchasing a HDTV set along with my PS3. What good is having such a powerfull console if you don't have a TV set that can reproduce what its capable of? I really want a plasma screen, but I heard those only last about 2 years. I'm not impressed with LCD's, so thats definatly out of the question. I haven't looked into DLP's much, so that may be a viable alternative. I may just end up getting a tube HD set since space isn't much of an issue where its going, and I know they last long and produce an excellent picture too.

thats a foolish question of course games will work on non hd tv that would be stupid of microsoft and sony to not have them do that. i for one wouldn't run out and buy a tv just to play xbox 360 or ps3

It's not buying the TV just for the game. The system is compatible with HD-TV, so that makes it much the games look much clearer. On the off-hand, you now have an HD-TV to watch awesome movies and shows with.

It's really a win-win situation if you were planning on getting an HD-TV anyway.

Plama's average life is about 7 years, but i can last longer. To me its not worth the money 3000bucks for something that lasts 7 years. Some of my Sony TV's are 12 years old and still look and play great. But im getting a 27 inch HDTV. I can get one for a litte under a grand. Its even more worth cause i was getting one anyway. But the 360 and Ps3 and Revolution make it offical that im getting one.

hd only means hi definition which is only better resolution for viewing a picture...

as for consoles having that option i think is a good thing, better pixels makes for better viewing pleasure..

in the next 3-4 generations in consoles we will have to seriously think about upgrading our monitors to cope with the graphics, as the current generation of tv's built in the last 15 years will not be able to cope with refresh rates the current hd standards excedes the limit of the tv's usefullness... so i sugggest people start saving up to buy tv able to support the hd format...
