BF1942 Installation Issue

Just trying to install BF 1942 onto my new laptop. The CDs are still in great condition, but after about 20% on the first CD, the program locks and says it can't reach media from the CD.

BF Vietnam installed great, and works perfectly, so it's not a matter of specs or a faulty drive or anything. Also, it appears to only happen when I try and install BF 1942 onto my laptop. It goes past that point on any of my desktop computers. Any ideas?

Laptop Specs:
P4 3.6 2K l2
1Gb RAM
Mobility X800
WinXP Media Center Ed.

Do you have any other systems to try the CDs on?
Have you tried copying the entire CD to your hard drive just to see if it can, in fact, read the entire disc?

Actually, that was my next idea... Gonna' try putting the CD in a networked drive when I get home and see if it works. Was just checking if anybody else ever saw that kind of issue, and knew a different way around it... Such as waiting until the moons are aligned or something.

But anyhow, now that I've been ordered by Mr. Friday the 13th himself, I'm on it!

If that fails use some scratch-x on them. (yes the car wax type stuff.) I had a Windows Xp disc that looked perfect, but would not install. Used the car scratch remover and it worked like a charm.
