Can this play Half-Life 2? Please recommend a video card

I was wondering if this a Amd Athlon 64 3400+ with 512MB of RAM would be fast enough to run Half-Life 2. Also, can anyone tell me a good ATI video card for around $100?

BTW, what do I need to make mods for Half-Life 2?

If your mobo supports AGP then look for the refurbished section at newegg for a ATI 9800PRO, they should be at that price range and will play Half Life 2..
