I have no idea, could you provide a link to where you found such information?

I doubt it'll play PC games... even though it is one heck of a powerful system.

I remember seeing a chart saying it'll play:
    • PS1 games
    • PS2 games
    • PS3 games (no brainer)
    • CDs and DVDs
    Mac Mini—2Ghz—2GB RAM—Snow Leopard
    PC—e6420 2.16Ghz—2GB RAM—8800GT—ASUS P5LD2—XP
    EEE 1000H—1.6Ghz—1GB RAM—XP

I remeber seeing a PS2 cluster some Uni bulit that was running linux, so it should be possable but I haven't see anything about it shipping with.

    Edit: http://arrakis.ncsa.uiuc.edu/ps2/cluster.php

Another edit: your right, it sounds like it will be add-on.

Thats a lot of PS2's, how would they get the idea (and the money) to do that?!

Well, it all sounds like some sort of mod to get Playstations running PC games...

Sony will make a hard drive available for the PlayStation 3, but it will be a separate add-on. It will be a 2.5" removable drive, allowing you to transport large files and swap it out for other drives for more space. Additionally, the drive will come with a version of Linux pre-installed, thereby making the PlayStation 3 a full-fledged PC as soon as the HD is installed.

Sony has not yet announced a size for the drive, though it's basically hinted that it will increase the capacity of available drives for sale over time.
    A seperate add-on...meh...

Wow, I guess it might work then! Now I can't wait for the PS3. It has all these awesome features... *faint* (Jeez I need a job now. Hopefully all that computer upgrading I've spent hundreds of dollars on doesn't go to waste on a PS3 )

    Wonderful insight on your part.

Where did these Xbox fans come from, anyway? Before Xbox, there was PS2 and GameCube.. Then Microsoft had to come and screw it up like they always have.

Yep, I was waiting for an out of this world showcase from the 360 but
the leap from Xbox to 360 is like a Radeon 9600 Pro to a 6600GT in the graphics dept. ....

How are they planning to compete with the PS3 like that.?
Don't know... Still, 360 does not convince me.
Going to wait for the PS3 and Revolution.
    boo!
