Last I heard the firmware update for PSP for 2.0 was supposed to be released for US today.
So far nothing is available.. has anybody heard anything different?
(Yes i know the Japanese version is available)
I'm already using 1.52 so I could care less about it disabling hacks etc, that went out the door right away.

Just a few of the important ones...
+ An Internet browser was added.
+ MP4 (AAC) and WAV (LPCM) were added as formats that can be played under [Music]
+ Wallpaper was added as a feature
+ WPA-PSK (TKIP) was added as a security method under [Network Settings].
+ Settings for Infrastructure Mode under [Network Settings] were revised to be easier to use.

You do direct updates from the PSP device, you just hit 'Network Update' and it does a query for updates, and downloads them automatically. |

GRRRRRRRRR Quote:
The PSP Firmware 2.0 Upgrade for the North American market will be available during the week of August 15th, instead of on August 12, as previously reported.
Designed to compliment the comprehensive entertainment experience of games, movies, music, photos and wireless connectivity provided by the revolutionary portable device, the firmware 2.0 upgrade will allow users to take advantage of the unit’s built-in Wi-Fi capability and wirelessly search the Internet from Internet Access Points or hot spots. The firmware 2.0 upgrade will be available for download directly to a PSP using a Wi-Fi connection or downloaded to a PC from http://us.playstation.com/psp and transferred to a PSP through a USB cable.
