    Trouble with Doom3

     
    I recently upgraded my mb and processor to the setup you see in my signature. It runs everything like a dream, HL2, UT2004 etc. But Doom3 plays very choppy and lags. It ran better on my xp2600. I have tried reinstalling the game with no luck.

    first, the 6600 isn't the GT which would have been better , and to run Doom 3 , at least 1 gig of ram would be the best.... i notice a huge difference from 512 to 1 gig with Doom3 , it's a very demanding game...

    did you install the latest update to the game?

    Updated your video and chipset drivers too?

    Ya, get anouther 512mb, or gig of ram if you can...

    Ya, a reformat would really help, but I think you would be ok with a repair install of xp...I think...

    Yeah, I downloaded all the latest drivers and did a reformat after upgrading, guess I'll try to get more memory when I can.
