Not sure, haven't heard any news on it yet. It would be nice, even though I have this thought in the back of my head you will need a new account.

definetely. 
Its not like they'll just throw your Xbox Live accounts from the xbox away once the 360 comes out, you'll be able to use your account on the 360. I'm sure you just need to enter some of that verification info in order to use it on the 360, but its pretty much it I think it will be.
