Yeah, check out the resolution thing, hopefully because I have ATI and you have Nvidia it's the reason why mine minizises and yours CDT's.

Hope it works for you.

I have seen a lot of people complain of the very same issue on the EA forums, not sure if they have sorted it out, might be worth having a look there if the resolution change doesn't work, see what the official verdict is from EA if indeed there is one.

Still No Luck with NFSMW.
I tried the 800x600 resolution thingy, it still CTD.
I installed the 1.3 patch too, still CTD.
Am very upset about it. Maybe I'll look for some other cool driving game.
Can anyone suggest me a realistic Driving game, may be I'll never bother to buy any NEF series in future, am really out of patience with NFSMW. I have the following driving games.

Richarh Burn Rally
JUICED
F1 2002
Need For Speed Underground 2

If there is any suggestion I can give it a last try before I throw it (NFSMW) out of the window.

Was doing a bit more reading on the EA forums, it would appear that some of the discs may have errors in them, few poeple reporting CDT like yourself, others can install it but it doesn't recognise their discs, maybe a quick email to EA might help sort it out, maybe a replacement game, although as it is alreay installed, might prove fruitless.

Heck, if nothing else, might be able to get a refund, as so many people are having issues, might get somewhere with it.

I still wonder how come a big gaming company like EA make such a mess. I still wonder if they are following the quality guidelines which a big company should maintain. I have almost lost hope in NFSMW. Maybe I'll check out for friends who have the game and see if I can use their CD/DVD to install and play the game. Anyway, this have been a very relieving thread on getting to know the problem. Thanks a lot to you guys for responding.. Wish me luck and also to those who have the similar problem.

do u happen to get a Windows Error as well, casue I've had problems with underground 2 and nhl 06. It works now, but hey, figuring it out took forever for nfsu2, for NHL 06, i ended up using a no-cd crack, with my new comp, it works fine.

The problem is I don't get any warning or error message. Had I got any error message, I would have tried to figure it out. It simply shows the splash shot, then goes fullscreen, the floppy drive makes a sound for a moment with the light on temporary then crashes out CTD, no warning whatever so.
If NFSMW writes a error log when it crash please let me know where the log file is, I hope if it's there it will help me troubleshoot.

I have one Question what sound card are you running ?
Disable the soundcard run the game tell me if that did anything !!

I have a Realtek [ on/B ] soundcard I have to disable it other wise soon as i enter a profile and click Ok and try go to the next step or even if i Load a Profile it Quits to Desktop

AMD 3500 + 64 Bit FX
G/B Ultra 939
GF 6600 GT
over 1 gig Ram
150 Gig HDD
Realtek sound Card [ On board ]
Win XP pro SP2

[ In short disable ur sound card try run the game then let me know how u went :P ]

Hallo guys I am from germany and I only registered here because I have had the same Problem.
But I found out what was the problem in my Case.
I have an USB to PSX Gamepad Adapter and If the Adapter is plugged in the Game won´t run and Jump back to Desktop after short black screen.
I already had this Problem with Star Wars Battlefront but forgot it.
While reading your post I remembered and try it with the Adapter unpluged.
And it worked.
In my oppinion you should unplug all Direct Input USB Devices because I think this cause the problems.

I hope I work in your case.

I too only just registered to say thanks for this post. I was having the same trouble as sapam until I read your post and it worked! Nice one.

sapam, there must be an issue with one of your USB devices. Try unplugging some of them and running the game.

Well its good i helped remind foxoflylat what his prob might have been and its good cas of foxoflylat, Iainn fixed his prob but in my case it turned out it wasnt the soundcard after all it was the dvd i got i went back to the store got another copy and it worked fine thanks to Achay cas he told me he had realtek and the game worked fine so i fig maybe its just the dvd. lol funny nuff tho the dvd installed fine on my friends with a diff sound card hahaha ! but anyhow its fixed now whats the chances this dvd might not work on my friends haha !
