    DoD:Source $20?

     
    I went to download DoD:Source and found out it is now $20. What is up with that? i thought it was free. I mean $20 is not that much but i am just curious as to why they are charging now.

    At one time wasnt DoD:Source free? Is it worth the $20?

    DoD-source was never free, from what i hear its worth it.

    the original DoD (non Source) is probably still free but the SOURCE edition (like Counter Strike Source) has a few tweaks and better graphics ect. and uses the new HL2 engine (i think) so they charge for it.

    It's never been free, but it did come with the HL2 Silver and Gold packages. Not Bronze or Retail HL2.

    Yeah, it has never been free, but only recently Valve began selling it independently. IMO, the price is a bit too high when you could get the Gold Package that had about 15 games for 80 or so bucks.

    Well, i just picked up HL2 and it came with HL2, CS:Source, HL2 Deathmatch and HL:Source. All for $50. i did not see any other packages, got it at comp usa.

    I will probably get it soon though. $20 is not that much.

    they only sell the bronze package in stores...that and the old HL package

    the silver, gold, and seperate games can be had via steam

    Yep. It comes with everything except DOD:S. You really can't blame them for wanting to make an extra buck. They put a lot of work into those games.
