Install help

Hello again.

I just came across an old game I had titled Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2. So I pop it into my computer and try to install it, and it seems that I have to type in a huge code to install it. Unluckilly for me I dont have the box and everything, only the disk, I dont have the code. Am I able to install it w/o the code somehow, or do i have to go out of my way to try to find one?

The "code" you are talking about is called the "CD-key". Its a code thats put into every game so not everyone can play from just one CD, you know, piracy, copyrights, blah blah blah...

You won't be able to install it without the CD-key, sorry...

Is there a different CD-key for every single copy or is there one universal one? This never happened to me before so I am kind of a noob w/ this...

Each game comes with a unique cd-key, usually that being the case. They're what keep piracy to a minimum, and usually the safest legal way to get another cd-key is to go to the bargain bin in wal mart and getting another copy of that need for speed game
