Oblivion, how do I cure myself from being a vampire?? - Tech Support Forums

Hey guys,

as the title says, I need to find a cure for me being a vampire.

I was going towards the imperial city, when I found an oblivion gate near the place where ya 1st find jauffrey.
I went in there, killed everything I could and destroyed the gate. Then I got out and went on to the city, but 1st I slept in the small inn just in front of the bridge cause I had levelled up and ya need to sleep etc etc.
But then I got this strange message saying that I dreamt a vague dream and saw myself as a vampire.

Strange thing is, I can walk in daylight without getting hurt, but I want a cure for it.

I don't wanna be a vampire, since I'm also part of an anti vampire club.
But does this mean I have the powers of a vampire and I can walk in daylight?? What am I?? Blade?? A daywalker?? Half vampire??

Can someone enlighten me?? Or tell me where I can find a cure??

Well, press TAB and look at your character. If he's pale and his eyes are a pale red, then yeah, you're a vampire.

As for a cure... There's a character that can cure you. I'm not sure who it is, unfortunately. You must remember that once you're cured, you can never become one again.

speaking of curing... i got biten by a rat and i have some leg disease... will a curing potion get rid of that? :P

are there any special powers to being a vampire in the game?? I mean, I don't care too much about being one, as long as I can walk in daylight and all. I found on google that I gotta talk to a priest somewhere and he'll point me in the right direction on where to find the cure.

Gonna do some googling and get back to you guys.

From what i understand (which is little, since i havent become a vampire yet... just going by what my mate has told me)... Vampirism has different stages... in the first stage, you need to feed atleast once every 24 hours... This way you will still be OK in daylight... BUT... if you ever go more than 3 days without feeding, you will move on to stage 2... where daylight does effect you, no matter how much feeding you do... Not sure if there are any more stages than this...

The advantage of stage 2 is that you get some nice stat buff's apparently... But yeh no sunlight can be a pain...

But yeh there is a cure questline... Takes abit of work from what i understand (and some expensive soulgems). If you are playing on PC, and want an easy out... You can always do a console command to add the Cure Vampire potion to your inventory. I can find out the item# if you wanna go that route.

If ya on xbox360 (like me), u'll need to do the actual quest to get the item heh. I'm kinding thinking of staying as a vampire if i ever turn into one.

So, does stage 1 come with extra abilities?? If so I'm staying stage 1, cause I don't like that I can't move around in daylight, I wanna be able to walk around freely.

I have no clue about the stage thing. All I know is that as long as you feed regularly, you'll have special vampiric powers. I don't know what they are off hand though, but you get some spells too.

I think in stage 1 you only get minimal buffs, maybe +5 to your stats or somethign like that... But as you get deeper in i think you get new spells or something.

My mate has created a new character as an experiment (with a 'weird' combination of major/minor skills) that worked out quite well it seems... I might give it a try myself too.

Well, I finally found the shrine of Azura, but I have to collect glowing dust from those glowing thingies (forgot their name).

How do I do that?? Do I need a special something to do that??

Seems that I've been lagging a bit, since I think I'm level 2 vampire now.

The added stats under vampire skill has gone up from 5 to 10 and I also had a dream of some sorts where it said that I felt like an ancient vampire would grant me more powers as I had done what he wanted yadda yadda yadda.

But after I fed myself, I can walk in daylight again, very strange indeed.

But can ya give me the hex code for the cure Jayman?? I'm not gonna use it any time soon I think, but just in case I need it.

Or the way to get it myself through quests or something.
