Hey guys...just stumbled onto this SR Lab site and it seems to work well. Here's some good info from their FAQ: Quote: What is System Requirements Lab?
System Requirements Lab is a web-based service that quickly and automatically tells you if your computer can run a specific product. The entire service is run on a web site with immediate summary and detailed analysis provided both graphically and textually. Just select a product, click a button, and it will do the rest. Top What does this service do?
This service analyzes your computer's system information and compares it against a product's specific minimum and recommended requirements. It then instantly provides both a summary and a detailed analysis of your system. In many cases if your PC does not meet a specific requirement then System Requirements Lab provides links to specific solutions so you can run the product.
What do I have to do?
Select the product you want to evaluate and click the "Can you run it?" or "Analyze My Computer" button to start System Requirements Lab. The ActiveX/Java based component automatically downloads, (with your explicit permission), and analyzes your computer to see if you can run the product. Can I delete the downloaded ActiveX/Java browser applet after System Requirements Lab has finished analyzing my computer?
Yes. To delete the downloaded ActiveX/Java browser applet and all of its components, navigate to your Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs and look for "System Requirements Lab". Select "System Requirements Lab" and click Remove. Make sure you ONLY remove this entry. Top
If my computer does not meet the listed requirements will this system tell me what is wrong?
Yes. System Requirements Lab provides not only a summary analysis but also a detailed breakdown of each of your system's components. The analysis tells you what the requirement is, what your system has, and whether or not you passed the requirement. If any component does not meet a specific requirement, System Requirements Lab provides specific and detailed solutions to help you upgrade your system. Sometimes it may be a free driver download and sometimes it may be a link to a specific component.
| I tested games that I know my computer can and can't play and the site's analyzer was right every time. The computer I built for my kids passes every time, while I'm sitting here with hit and miss results.

Anyway...check it out and let me know what you think. It may not recommend the best video card, but it did always recommend ones better than what I have now. It works with Internet Explorer, Firefox & Netscape browsers. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

You know, maybe they should put in a search box so we don't have to look through the entire pig-slapping list in order to find one game! |

Aw come on...they're in alphabetical order and you can move the slider up/down as fast as you'd like. Was it really that much of a hassle? |

Massive hassle to scroll quickly through an alphabetical list???
I mean, I didn't create the site and I agree that a search would be nice, but I think you're exaggerating just a bit...don't you? |

Ex. Everyone knows the name Oblivion. People who dont have the game might not know its The Elder Scrolls.
Search Engine= 100x more user friendly |

Hey...I said a search would be nice!
So what I've learned is that my Ti4200P Turbo Edition is ancient history. However, my cpu is an XP2000+ (sometimes OC'd to 2500+), so I don't know that a video upgrade is worth the money. Hmmm...maybe so as I do have 1.5GB RAM. I dunno... |
